Such a gorgeous place and a lovely spot down the bottom at the waterfall to cool off for a swim and have lunch. Water is beautiful and clear. Rocks are a bit slippery around the edge but you’d expect that! Lots of other longer walks you can do if your without young kids

This must be one of the best views over the Blue Mountains and we were lucky enough to catch it on a bright sunny day. Stunning views, close to car park but worth walking down the steps a little if you can manage it. Counted ourselves extra lucky as so many of the lookouts still closed.

We were staying in Blackheath so I decided to go to Govett’s Leap Lookout to watch the sun rise.
There were quite a few people watching the sunrise. Such an awesome spot to see the sunrise up through the valley.
The view over the falls is just fabulous. There is a nice picnic area and a track that goes down into the valley below. There is another track that goes round to Evans Lookout. It was very wet and muddy so that idea was shelved.

Great views down the valley through all the interweaving cliff outcrops. When we were here in early Feb white bags of new stone had been brought in, presumably for path repairs and a couple of pathways were closed as a result. Facilities available and parking just 20 metres from the view.

its almost 360 degree view of valley and very soothing to sit there and watch birds flying lower than you.

The landscape is amazing and lots of view points. Many of the tracks from Govetts leap are closed due to maintenance. There are other walks available at different levels. The is a track suitable for prams and wheelchairs. Sturdy shoes are essential

The view from the rustic lookout across the Grose Valley to the distant rugged mountains, with a long, spidery waterfall to the right, is simply spectacular and a magnificent example of the grandeur of the Blue Mountains and the Australian bush. Easily accessible and also the start of some great walks.

Another fabulous view/expanse of National Park..... just down the road from the hotel I stayed at.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of the scenic views in BM.

Beautiful scenery. Very quite. Great walking tracks. A couple of tracks were closed. Loved the waterfall.

Hi there, I would like to see Govetts leap and Evans lookout. From which Point is it best to start this walk from? I will have packed picnic lunch with me too - at point will be the nicest to stop and eat at? Can you get taxi from either end back to Blackheath? I'm not lazy I have just finished chemo and trying to work out the best way for me to get the most out of this attraction without getting too fatigued. Thanks in advance for your help!

I know its been a while since this question was asked, but I am going to answer it for others.
The clifftop walk between Govetts Leap Lookout and Evan Lookout is 3km. There is no "best" starting point. Either direction is the same. It passes the top of Govetts Leap Falls so this might be a good place to stop for lunch or whatever, but having said that there are plenty of other scenic spots to stop. It is after all a clifftop walk.
There is no public transport to either lookout, but there is a local bus - #698 - with a route that goes partway down Govetts Leap Rd and Evans Lookout Rd before returning to the main road at Blackheath and then Katoomba.
If you need to get a taxi though, best to call Katoomba taxis on 02 4782 1311.
