This is my favorite place in Canonsburg Beautiful place to go for a hike, fishing, or a walk. Very relaxing and peaceful, usually not too crowded. Great on the weekends and during the week. I don't have much luck with the fish, but it's great for a relaxing time.

I used to live behind the lake in 1991-95...one year when i was 15 yrs old I took my dog on the usual Saturday morning run around the lake( i had her off leash cause at the time it wasnt a park and no one was ever there) It was beginning of March and we just had a big snowfall the previous weeks and it was starting to warm up a bit. The lake was frozen..well except for the middle. My dog suddenly took off onto the ice after geese flapping around in the water in the middle part of the lake. Well I froze and watch in fear as she came to a sliding stop and ..splash. well she has never swam in her life!! And she was panicking trying to climb out..I couldn't stand and watch my dog die so I started out onto the ice knowing very well that if it couldn't hold a 30 ib dog it's not holding a 90 ib girl. So yes I went in and at first I screamed for help...but silence..no one around..just the faint call of geese. Everytime I pushed up on the ice it cracked..we were in trouble. Well needless to say my panic became a peaceful acceptance of what may come...but i kept trying anyways..i somehow got out...and amazingly so did my dog after being in the freezing water more then 10 min!! It was a miracle..angels... So the lake Is an important part of my life and I hope the Angels that helped me that day are still there...waiting to help another person or animal in need!!

I took my paddle board out on this lake and it is extremely calm! Great for beginners! There is not an official “ramp” per se, but there is a sandy/muddy bank where you can launch. It is muddy so if you care, bring something to rinse off with! There is ample parking even though I thought there wasn’t when I first arrived since there were cars parked along the side of the road. At least when I went anyhow! Very relaxing and pretty place with clean water. There is a small current. I would go back again!

We were looking for a place nearby our hotel to take our golden retriever for a quick swim and this place came up when I googled pet friendly beaches. It's a nice, but small park with a lake so clearly you need to get there early on the weekends if you want a spot near the shore. We finally found a spot for him to take a dip but it was less than ideal since it was at the end of a wooded path and the bank of the lake wasn't easy to get in and out of not to mention all of the downed trees in the water but it got the job done. Lots of fishing and boating going on here and seems to be a great local park. As we were walking around the lake I noticed that there was a bird feeder hanging in a tree and underneath there were several chipmunks which absolutely made my evening, it's the little things that make me happy.

We walked this trail today for the first time. There are lots of exposed roots to manuever around, could be a problem for some people. Many people were fishing and the trail was busy with people just needing to get out and do something. Will return.

Love to walk the trail, take pictures and enjoy nature. Part of the trail is through the woods so you need to be careful of the roots, can be a tripping hazzard.

This lake is in a residential area of Peters Township in Washington County, south of Pittsburgh. It's nestle back among trees and residential houses. One would not even know it was there. There is one road that goes down to a parking lot area, free parking. It's not a far walk at all to the lake's edge. There are picnic tables and benches scattered along the water's edge all along the entire perimeter of the lake with trails. There are also small docks here and there for fishing or launching kayaks. No motor-boating on the lake. It's an idyllic setting, quite peaceful and scenic.

The fishing is good there. I do not know what the people saying its bad/low and snags. I've caught catfish,bass and such.

This is a very nice park for a long stroll around the lake. Speaking of the lake, its bigger than you may think but not huge. The fishing is bad here, the water is low shallow that it makes fishing no fun at all. I've never lost so many hooks and bobbers at one time.

We walk here almost daily. Easy 2 miles around. But, can get very muddy through the trees. Love the black top side for rainy days! People, please pick up after your dogs/horses though!
