Huge praise for Aaliyah, Hershey Outfitters, and the Palmyra Sportsmens Association for an incredible trap shooting experience! Booked in July for the end of September event, Aaliyah was wonderful to speak with on the phone, very responsive by email, and a joy to meet in person. Her bright smile and cheerful demeanor started our adventure off so nicely. She accommodated a change in the number of us in the group (from 10 to 12 then 10 again) without a hitch, took many photos during the event, and wrapped up the whole thing so graciously. And the Palmyra trap instructors were low-key, informative, and very knowledgeable. Most in our group had never held a shotgun before and were trepidatious, to say the least. The emphasis on safety and proper gun fitting put us at ease immediately. And the pure delight on the faces of three that had never shot before when they consistently hit the targets was priceless. Thank you, Aaliyah, for all you did to give my team and me sooo many happy memories!

We did the Segway tour this past weekend. Aaliyah was so helpful and encouraging. I have done a couple Segway tours in the past at different locations. Aaliyah really stood out and helped my fiancé feel comfortable on the Segway. Tour was informative and fun at the same time. I highly recommend you to try when in Hershey. It was an amazing way to start our vacation!

THE GOOD:
Aaliyah is WONDERFUL!! She is such a huge asset to Hershey Outfitters (she deserves a raise for doing course after course after course.... I'm not sure how she does it!) First, I will start by saying that the course itself is both fun, and challenging, in a great way! It is NOT a "tree-top" ropes course - it is a freestanding structure with 2 levels, with a series of challenges that move you from one end to the other, then up to the second level and across more challenges, and ends with a fun zip-line! The course itself, and Aaliyah, was fantastic.
THE BAD:
I would NOT recommend that you do this on a very hot day, as there is no shade. We were told it was in the woods, so I was NOT expecting that when we arrived, it was in a huge open area (surrounded by woods) with no shade. We would have loved this 10x more if my kids weren't ready to pass out from being extremely overheated. The way the course is structured, there is no way to take a water bottle along with you. 2+ hours of climbing and being physical, with no shade and no way to cool off or rehydrate in 90+ heat is a recipe for disaster. I do feel that it's dangerous to be at the top of this course if someone passes out from the heat, as there is literally NO way to tend to them on a small platform so far up with no medical kit and no access to water or any way to get them to safety easily (I would assume there is a medical kit and water in the van that they transport you in, but the instructor would have to get herself down from the 2nd story and to the van and back up to help - who knows how long that would take?) I will say that everyone IS harnessed in, so if someone were to pass out they would not FALL (they would hang by their harness!). I still think this is dangerous.
I did address this with the Manager and suggested that they could perhaps install a mister system or even a fan on each small landing so people could cool off (or come up with some sort of pulley system to get bottles of water to the platforms if needed). I was told that b/c it was considered a "ride", that any alterations would make the insurance void. Understandable, but then I think perhaps they should visit installing a free standing canopy over the course to provide some shade (this would also perhaps allow them to offer the course if it was drizzling?) Maybe an added bonus.
RECOMMENDATION:
Definitely go if you love adventure and ropes courses and ask for Aaliyah b/c she is fantastic. I love Hershey and I think this is a wonderful addition to the Hotel and the area. However, if you or your family are not used to extreme heat, or you have younger children, I would avoid doing this on a hot summer day (sharing this b/c I wish I had known this before we scheduled!) I would love to do it again when its cooler and we could enjoy it more.

Aaliyah was excellent, from initial enquiry all the way to the day of the activity, she kept us informed as needed. She was also our guide for the day, and made the outing fun.

We had a group of kids, some of which were unsure whether they felt safe doing this activity and Aaliyah at Hershey Outfitters was great at not only encouraging them but also making sure they were safe and knew how to do each step of the course. What a fun activity!

Our group of 8 kids, ranging in age from 7 to 14, participated in the ropes course with Aaliyah as our instructor. Each child had a different degree of comfortability with the course. Aaliyah was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with each and every one of them. She was thorough in her explanation and instructions, encouraging, kind, and fun! There were some kids that didn't think that they could complete it, that actually made it! All because of Aaliyah's encouragement! She truly made this such an enjoyable experience for all! I can' say enough great things about her! If you are looking for team building, confidence builders or just plain fun - do this course with Aaliyah! You won't be disappointed. She is an absolute treasure and I would give her 10 stars if I could!

We had an amazing time doing the high ropes course. Aaliyah was an awesome guide. She made us feel comfortable and made the course really fun. This was a highlight of a fun girl’s weekend in Hershey with my best friends.

Aaliyah is an absolute treasure!! We (a group of 7 women in town for a bachelorette party) did both the Ropes Course and Archery tag and had such a blast. Aaliyah was calm, kind, funny, and supportive, and was able to be flexible and change course when we got tired of running half way through Archery Tag! Aaliyah took tons of photos so that we could have keepsakes from the weekend. She was a complete joy to work with! Highly recommend the experience.

We visited Hershey, PA for a quick weekend visit. The rope course/zipline and the off-road Segway experience were on the top of my list of activities we wanted to do. Aaliyah was accommodating at the very last minute and my family was able to spend the entire day doing both activities.
Aaliyah was patient (she also was training another employee - Ava) and fully explained both activities so that we remained safe and had an awesome time. Would highly recommend both activities if you’re not afraid of heights, speed, or pushing your limits.

Aaliyah was AMAZING and gets 5 stars! She was great with my son when he needed help and encouragement and I'm so grateful for that. We were both too afraid to finish so that was a bummer but not through fault of the company. It would be nice if there were options along the way to grab for security if needed for those of us who couldn't make it to the end because we missed the zipline which really was the whole reason for going. Scavenger hunt was not fun so I would skip that option entirely. Just hanging out with Aaliyah was what really made it an unforgettable experience, you rarely meet people so fun and enjoyable to be around anymore! Thank you!

What’s the cost for an adult and a 10 year old child?

It depends on the activities you want to do. In my experience with similar events at other places, the prices are in line. Being that you're in Hershey and at the Hotel Hershey, I would have expected pricing to be a lot more!
How old do the children have to be for this, would a 4 year be able to do any of it

Hello! We have had children that young on the course. Some do just fine and have a great time, some are overwhelmed by the height. We do have full body harnesses for children under 80 pounds and children's helmets for every situation. Let us know how we can be accommodating to your family. If your family decides they want to try something else, we have Geo-caching which is a great family activity for all ages. We look forward to your visit!
