We had complimentary tickets from the lodge. There isn’t a lot to hold kids’ interests so we went though the museum in about 20 minutes. We did the chocolate lab as well which was fun but was basically pouring chocolate in a mold and then learning about chocolate while it cooled. Considering you can build your own bar at Chocolate World, this won’t seem as exciting.
If you have free tickets, it’s worth a visit once but I don’t think I’d pay to go here.

About half an hour for $15. They do have the chocolate lab, which is a class about making chocolate for $10 more. The museum is all about Milton Hershey. How he got started and grew into the Hershey of today. Seemed very 1-sided. I would have liked to know where the money came from to start, something I missed. Staff are super friendly, warm place on a cold day.

The wall info was interesting, but all spread out and hard to keep my focus.
People were all over and often blocking displays.
You will really want to have a half day to dedicate to walking around and reading and watching videos.
The museum starts and ends on the second floor.
I found it rather lame that we have to pay for a tasting ticket just to order and get a hot chocolate. The tasting is only for the melted chocolate.
$30 entry for two adults without the lab or the chocolate tasting.

This museum is user-friendly and so informative. Milton Hershey was a fascinating man. Not only creative but very generous and caring of his employees and the world at large. You won't need more than an hour or hour an and a half to tour this small museum. There are short films in it and interactive displays. There is a neat gift shop and a small cafe with excellent food adjacent to the museum.

After a few days at Hershey Park, it was nice to visit the museum and see how it all began. It was a very family friendly experience from the special “H” coin, interactive exhibits to the “coin wish” at the end. Staff is welcoming and knowledgable.

While in Hershey, we spent one morning at the Hershey Story Museum. What a gem. The museum does an incredible job of telling the story of this incredible man with a giving heart.
The museum is a bit interactive, and has some wonderful timelines that help tell the story of what was happening in the country while Milton Hershey was building his business.
There is also an exhibit downstairs after you finish the main museum upstairs that tells the story of Milton Hershey establishing the sugar cane business in Cuba and how he really helped the people of Cuba too.
We had no idea of his history and were very impressed with the man and museum. The small gift shop also has some Hershey themed items that Chocolate World does not.
Well worth the visit.

Interesting place to visit but a bit pricey. Hershey was a remarkable man and the museum did well in telling his story.

Really looked forward to going here, but was disappointed in ticket cost for what we saw/did. Information was good and vintage packaging fun to see, but we were very surprised no free candy to try/takeaway at the end. What food museum doesn't give out a little something, even just a Hershey miniature or kiss to say thanks for coming?Plenty of candy to buy in the gift shop for $$$ of course, wouldn't go back.

This museum is lots of fun with lots of good information on Mr. Hershey. All the employees were friendly and helpful. I didn't eat there, but the cafe looked good.

We want to visit Hershey, but we are limited in time. We want to devote an afternoon there. My must haves are the trolley tour, make my own chocolate bar, and Chocolate world. Is it doable in an afternoon? There will be three adults so I'm okay with skipping the 4D experience and tasting room. Thanks!

The Hershey Museum is a must for me. If I had limited time, I would skip Chocolate World. To me, it's more of a young kid thing.

There are no guided tours. You go at your own pace. We spent a little over two hours there. The only thing we missed out on was a tour of the Chocolate Lab. You’ll have to check the times on the website. Enjoy. We certainly did
I see on the website you can buy tickets combining the museum and lab. Is there a ticket that includes tasting, the gardens and story? Or is it $46 to do all five? And can it ALL be done in one day?

Right now you can purchase combo tickets for Hershey story Museum and the Hershey gardens. I think you have to buy the tickets to the Chocolate Lab on site I think the website is simply showing you the prices. If you click on purchase tickets the website tells you that the prices do not include the chocolate lab.

This is our second time to Hershey. We have done Hershey's Chocolate World, but not The Hershey Story. Is there much of a difference between the Chocolate Lab and the Create Your Own Chocolate Bar at Chocolate World?
Lynn905
Jackson, MI210 đóng góp
Yes, there is a difference. The Create Your Own Chocolate Bar is hands on and you walk along watching an actual conveyor belt as the candy bar is being made. As part of the process, you also design your own wrapper and receive the large candy bar at the end in a very nice Hershey's tin. For the Chocolate Lab, you sit and listen to someone talk about the different kinds of chocolate, taste test several different kinds of chocolate, and watch a short film. Maybe a half hour at most. At the end of the lab, you receive a small candy bar on the way out. Very educational. Depending on how the crowds are, the Create Your Own Chocolate Bar takes longer and you are standing the whole time but it's neat to watch.

Has anyone done the chocolate tastings with kids. We will be travelling to Hershey with four kids (ages 10, 9, 7 and 4). We saw that they have a tasting for kids, but it basically just looks like a fun drink for them. That might work for the 4 year old, but I imagine the older kids will want in on the chocolate tasting. Is this an appropriate activity for kids of that age? The website seems to imply that it is for adults? Also, we will be going to Chocolate World as well. Does it make sense to do both chocolate tastings? Lastly, how is the chocolate lab at The Hershey Story?

The drinks can be fun for kids, but my wife and I found them to be bitter, so if your kids are picky, it's not going to be a great experience. My wife and I enjoyed it.
Regarding the Chocolate Lab, somewhat pricey, but our kids loved it. Make your own chocolate bar with your own wrapper. They loved it!!!
