I had heard a lot about this park from locals when looking for a park to go walking on my most recent visit. Let me just say im sad i didnt come here sooner!! Just walking around their trails was so calming and peaceful even though there were tons of people there. Everyone that i encountered was very nice and offered small talk. The petting zoo they have on site was cute and the animals were very friendly. I thought it was very interesting and smart that they have the stables for the local mounted police there as well which definitely contributes to the calm nature of the park. They had lots of recreational areas around with basketball courts, playgrounds, and sitting areas scattered throughout the park. It was a very peaceful and heartwarming experience to say the least :)

This is the only park in the county that has semi-tame wildlife. If you like to see blue jays, robins, titmice, nuthatches, cardinals, red bellied woodpeckers and squirrels, this is the place for you. You will also notice a few hawks that are circling overhead while the squirrels and birds keep a watchful eye on them. Waterfowl like mallard ducks are in the pond but we aren't supposed to feed them. I'm sure that the park management is trying to discourage Canadian geese from congregating here and fouling the landscape. For people who like musical entertainment, there are various groups that entertain here on the summer weekends.

We walked for over an hour and took in sun and sights. There are tons of playgrounds and many people had their dogs. Bathrooms available.

Gorgeous park! Beautiful lake, great picnic and play areas, and kids loved to look at the animals. Pity the petting zoo part is not actually open.

We had a beautiful day for walking and were pleased to find this spot. It isn't large, but nice and we sat and planned our day on a bench before walking the trail.

There was about about 150 Crafters and Artists, there was food vendors and plenty of seating. There was so much to see, and some very different art and crafts that were there.

The Park is conveniently located just off US-30 in Lancaster City. Plenty of parking along the vehicle lanes, a beautiful fountain in the large pond, complete with water foul [please do not feed], snack bar, concert shell with scheduled summer performances, large “school-like” play ground with metal and wooden attractions for children.
The Park is mostly handicap accessible, dog friendly and a relaxing location to visit during a busy day. Long’s Park hosts the World’s Largest Chicken Barbecue, certified by Guinness Book of Records annually and various other events throughout the summer. The Park is open all year long.

We stopped in here for an after dinner stroll and had a lovely turn around the lake-- no hills and good for strollers or kids on bikes. It was great to see a lot of families and other groups out enjoying the nice weather and pretty views. There looked like there were lots of things to do here-- a petting zoo, outdoor performances, etc.

We saw alt-country artist Dale Watson here in Aug. 2017 and just saw Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience here last Sunday night.
All Sunday night summer concerts are FREE and parking is very easy considering the attendance may number approx 1000 people per show. Despite the number of people it's not so crowded that you're unable to find a decent viewing spot. And the sound guys do a really nice job here.

Tonight Phil Vasser wowed his fans at Longs Park, Lancaster, PA. It was part of the free concert series put on for the community every Sunday night through the summer. His performance along with his talented band played for an hour and a half and was outstanding. Kudos to the organizing committee for bringing such a well known talent to Lancaster. Check online for schedule.

There are 2 small, free, pet zoo available in Lancaster county. One is in Long's Park (off Harrisburg pike), second, is in Oregon Dairy store/farm. (off Oregon Pike)

Parking is all throughout the park. You may want to watch your arrival time if you want to park close to the stage.

I don’t think so, can’t say for sure. I do know it costs to rent the pavilions.
