Scarehouse tour today was awesome . As a horror fan to spend time with people with a passion for horror was time well spent. It was an amazing day. Jenn D. Was our guide and she did a fantastic job and was very friendly and knowledgeable. . Even got us a gift bag with a handwritten note. Very appreciated.
The sets and detail are so intricate and you can tell they love what they do.Attention to detail was top notch.Even spoke to Scott one of the owners who was very in to his craft. Dont sleep on this. Been twice this year already and cant wait to go back. Love the staff. Thank you.

So much different than the usual haunted houses I grew up with. This is a full-on production, very elaborate and immersive. I actually didn't mind "exiting through the gift shop" because it was a full-on party in there. Really fun and recommended.

Finally attended after years of hearing about it from friends and family, can't believe I waited so long to visit and am now a loyal fan. I know of several local artists and performers who contribute to this experience and make it 100% home-grown. As scary as advertised but wasn't expecting the show to also be so funny and entertaining as well.

Yes, it's in a mall, but prepare to be transported once you get inside-- you walk through an abandoned food court & enter a space which used to be an H & M, & you're in a different realm. The ScareHouse actors are passionate, the attention to detail in the makeup & costumes is impressive, & the sets are unique & well-crafted. The customer service & security teams were professional & personable, & the store (the end of the haunted house spits you out into a store for a unique shopping/memento-acquiring experience) employees were fun.

was skeptical at first since it's now in a Mall but once you're inside it's much longer and larger than we expected. All adult actors, no kids and definitely got me several times. We'll definitely be back

This haunt hasn’t been good in years. Ever since they got big they have rushed their groups through so everyone meets inside and it’s one huge line. It sucks so bad. They don’t care the guests aren’t getting scared. They just want the money and you to go in and out so they keep bringing the people in. We literally went in 1 minute after a group that just went in. So the whole time it was a conga line. Absolutely HORRIBLE! Not one good thing to say about this place anymore. They have potential to be good if they space the groups out like 15 mins apart and they add more actors then yea maybe that’s a better shot. But what they have been doing is absolutely terrible. No one wants to go through a train inside a haunt. and they are not even considered a haunted house in our books. I can name some very good ones that we’ve encountered in PA compared to this crap.
The social media people in scarehouse that does their page, deletes bad reviews that say what happens inside and they delete or block you for disliking them. I can’t comment or like anything of there’s since they did that to me. Also they keep trying to flag my google review. Haha shows the type of business they are.

The good: Plenty of parking. Indoor haunted house in a nice mall setting. Covid restrictions fully enforced. Everyone wore masks and kept distant from other groups. The line moved quickly and there were actors walking around to entertain. The time-slot ticketing meant that we only waited about half an hour to get in.
However, it was not super scary this year. I have not been to ScareHouse at the previous location, so I can't compare. Not sure if it's because they moved or because of Covid, but it's mostly scenery, not as many actors popping out. I thought the effects and animatronics were very cool, though.

What a disappointment. Room after room of Halloween costumes and props. Nothing to see here that you couldn't see walking through a Spirit Halloween store. Very lame, low thrill attraction. I don't even think I passed 10 actors. And the whole attraction only took 15 minutes to walk through, mainly because there is nothing to see. Nothing stops you in your tracks or shocks you. I can't believe this place gets such great reviews from some people. This was the last time I will go to the Scarehouse. The only good thing is that the waiting line is indoors. So if it's raining or a cold October evening, at least you'll be warm. But some people are standing in line for two hours for a 15 minute snooe-fest. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. There are other attractions within driving distance of Pittsburgh that are MUCH better.

The reason that "Nothing stops you in your tracks" this year is because of necessary Covid19 precautions - and we have removed all boundaries, barriers, fabrics, and touch points that would normally impact or slow your passage. Similarly, our cast is reduced due to occupancy limits - but we can assure you that there are nearly 30 on site every night of operation.
We take the safety of our guests and cast very seriously and that does mean our 2020 production, as well as that of any haunted attraction you're likely to visit this year - will differ from previous seasons.

The actors are good at staying in character but the basement use to be more intense and enjoyable. I laughed more than I was scared. There was a lot of just standing in the dark waiting. I think I was startled twice? I miss how it use to be for sure. I enjoyed the house better. As always the decor was on point. The best costume was at the very end of the house scare.

Amazing as always. We flew all the way from California and will continue to do so. This place is incredible and the amount of thought and detail is impeccable! Great job guys you have definitely earned our business!!

Is Scare House: The BaseMent, or any of it's other Attractions considered an Extreme Haunt like Black Out, The 17th Door, etc?
I ask because I want to know, is there any Suffocation used in any way, shape, or form in any of their Attractions?

Scarehouse is not extreme like the ones you mentioned though it is terrifying. The Basement is not like Blackout extreme but more like 17th door extreme as you mentioned. You may encounter some scarce sexual content, electric shock or a bag over your head. FYI the shock dosnt hurt much.
