Bathrooms were locked even though the sign on the door said it would be open. Needles everywhere in the city-on the bridges and walking paths so that was totally disgusting and not safe. I wouldn’t come back here w small kids at all. Bums sleeping everywhere, smelled like urine and feces under bridges and around benches.

The museum is large but it does give a good insight into the history of the point. The grounds are well maintained and I felt more than safe even with the night strolls I took at various times, one at 2 AM. I have not had the opportunity to see the fountain in action yet but I am sure it is impressive!

The location of Fort Duquesne is marked by a granite tracery (outline) within the Great Lawn. The center of the tracery contains a bronze medallion depicting the fort. The locations of four of the five bastions, projecting parts of the fortification, of Fort Pitt have been delineated.

went here on saturday in october. 10 minute walk from our hotel. There was a small concession stand there for drinks and bathrooms in the park if needed. Great picture taking by the fountain.

We went to see the museum and the fountain. It was a nice day. The fountain was OK, but the view of the boats passing by and the grand park was a good stop.
We think we saw an episode of Married at first sight being filmed. It was pretty cool to sit down, relax and look at the view.

just like Duquesne incline, this park is the face of Pittsburgh. it is in the heart of Pittsburgh, the "Golden Triangle" at the junction of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers.
At the tip of the triangle is Point State Park, with one of the country's largest fountains, symbolizing the birth of Ohio. In more recent times, the park was integral to the rebirth of Pittsburgh's downtown from the 1950s through the 1970s. Point State Park was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1975 and is listed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places as part of the Pittsburgh Renaissance District.
The tip of Point State Park features an 800,000-gallon fountain that sprays water 150 feet into the air. The park hosts many of the city's signature events
We came here at dusk time and it was a nice place to relax, watching children playing, kayaking, and boat tour. Great spot!

You can't visit the city and not see where the City of Three Rivers gets its nickname. A lovely park, worth a walk, perhaps on the way to the Duquesne Incline (another must-do).

The park was our destination as we left our hotel about one mile away. Large green space, a fountain shooting water to heights nearing the local buildings, and the point where the three rivers meet. We arrived walking from Liberty Ave, and departed via a pedestrian path along the Allegheny River.

I have always seen Point State Park in pictures of Pittsburgh and was excited about visiting. We rented bikes downtown using the PBSC app and rode through. The park gives a great view of the river and north and south shore areas and the fountain is huge. This was a great spot in a city that we really enjoyed visiting.

100% FREE parking nearest to Point State Park in Pittsburgh, PA?
I would rather haul a bicycle, park my car half an hour away and bicycle to the park then pay a SINGLE penny to these government mosquitoes and property vultures who are trying to suck my money dry.
I worked hard to buy my expensive car and I didn't do that just so I can be penalized for buying it.
Is there a playground in this park?

The park does not have swings or slides. However it does have an educational and historical spot where Fort Pitt once was and is now a museum. The park is vast so if you bring a soccer ball, frisbee, baseball gloves and a ball, there is room to play any kind of yard activities you would enjoy and would need space. Also keep in mind that just a short walk across the bridge, there is Carnegie Museum which has a very large children’s activity center. Also within the city (short walk from the park and during the summer), PPG Plaza has fountain area that children can enjoy and run thru to cool off.
During major events in Point State Park there are always activities set up for children/kids to enjoy.

Is the park within walking distance from the Hyatt north shore?
Point S
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania:
Point State Park is within walking distance of all of the North Shore and downtown hotels. The Fort Duquesne Bridge walkway from the North Shore ends within the park, or if you take any of the "three sisters bridges" into the city (Roberto Clemente, Andy Warhol, and Rachel Carson) the park is approximately 2, 4, or 5 blocks to the west.
