I brought a change of clothes and a towel in a backpack which I kept in the car. I don't remember seeing anything more than a room to hang coats.

I would say, at least half of it is appropriate for a two-year-old.

I think as adults you'd be better off going to the science center, Carnegie museum of natural history or art or the warhol. Pittsburgh's children's museum really is geared towards kids.

We are about 1.5 miles from the Heinz History Center, which Maps has as a 30-minute walk. It’s a fairly scenic walk, you can walk to PNC Park and cross over the Allegheny River on the Roberto Clemente Bridge or the Andy Warhol Bridge.

I drove, but according to googlemaps, to walk from the Heinz History Center to the Children's Museum, it is 1.3miles. So, if you're game for that walk, certainly. :) I don't like driving in the city either, but I didn't find it to be bad to get from one to the other.

Thank you for your interest in Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. All of our exhibits have activities and features to appeal to toddlers and up. The Nursery area of the Museum was designed with infants and toddlers in mind and features train tables, a giant light bright wall, blocks and many tactile elements. In Waterplay, children can paint with water, play in spouting water pipe and an ice table, float boats in a channel and more. All of the other exhibits in the Children's Museum have an area with activities geared to younger visitors. We also have tot programs most Tues - Fridays geared to children 18 months and older. Yes, there is a bank of bathrooms on a hallway adjacent to Waterplay where you are welcome to change. We hope you have a great visit!

There also is a special $2.00 per person admission for ACCESS card holders up to 4 people per card.

Yes, you may bring packed lunches or snacks in a cooler to eat in our Cafe. During the warmer months, we also have a beautiful park right outside our doors where you can lunch.
