Friendly, informative staff. Great way to learn the early history of the area. Not thrilling, but a good way to spend an hour, especially if it is raining during a walk of Point SP.

My visit to the Fort Pitt Museum and blockhouse reminded me of the history of the settlement of the Pittsburgh area and the Point

The Fort Pitt Museum isn't where it supposedly is located. If you take an Uber, it's a good distance from the closest drop-off point. Signage isn't particularly great either. Basically, it's hidden behind an highway overpass.
Anyways, the museum is quite small. The lower level has a few signs and exhibits. Upstairs is the real collection but it isn't organized that well. Most of the exhibits seem to be artifacts from other historic sights (not Fort Pitt), recreations, or artistic interpretations (paintings, photos, etc.) There wasn't a lot of archeological artifacts from Fort Pitt itself.
The history lesson is important but the actual museum is disappointing compared to Fort Ligonier.

My kid's had studied Fort Pitt so it had special significance. They do a great job hitting all facets of the event.

Enjoyable (except parking) and very challenging in discussing the atrocities of our history with Native Americans. Touch on small side but worth esp if you do Heinz History center and ticket thus included over that day and next.

This is a pretty nice museum. I didn’t have much knowledge of the history that it presents so that was a winner. It’s $8 to get in which isn’t bad. I enjoyed it.

A lot of history happened right on this little piece of land, and the museum does an excellent job at highlighting it. There’s a number of artifacts and historical testimonials that shed light on the importance of this location. Really cool to think that the direction of our country, both literally and metaphorically, was created because of Fort Pitt.

Part of the Senator Heinz History Experience which includes the more substantial downtown museum, thud recreation of a bunker tells the history of the battles raging over several centuries for control of what is now Western Pennsylvania. It is named after the fort dedicated to the wily British Prime Minister William Pitt who kept Britain’s continental rivals preoccupied in skirmishes continental Europe as a pretext for expelling the French from North America and India. There’s a portrait of George Washington in the uniform of a loyal British soldier before he became a revolutionary. When the British are portrayed as the good guys before the native Americans became scapegoats for their neutrality in the War of Independence. Some impressive eighteenth century weapons on the ground floor, films about the various wars, splendid views of the confluence of three rivers and the Pittsburgh skyline from picture windows. Some impressive oil paintings depicting eighteenth century events by a local artist Ray Youngblood.

This is a small museum on two floors. The paintings are exquisite and depict life at the birth of the Fort. There were two movie shorts that were well done. It showed the viewpoints of Native Americans, British and French. Well worth the small entry fee. Good choice of books in the gift shop.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was not busy. Great two story museum on the history of the fort and how it changed hands from the French to the British. Many good exhibits.
