Nice fun place for the whole family. You will walk a lot, and it will be noisy, but the little ones (and teens) will have a blast trying cool devices and science-explaining related gadgets.

Visited in February 2023. At first glance, it seems like the Carnegie Science Center mostly has programming for kids and families, but there are programs and experiences for adults to enjoy. I enjoyed the experiential zones in the Mars exhibition and watched a couple of films at the Rangos Giant Cinema.

After a 4 hour drive, our little one was ready to move! What a great layout. He loved the walking maze before we ever got in the door. Got to pretend to be an astronaut and watched a fun science show with frozen nitrogen. Some really cool stuff (no pun intended). The miniature train village was a big hit. Fortunately it was not crowded so he was able to make several trips around the village. Obviously as a toddler, he really enjoyed the noise machines! A fun few hours!

So many "Pros", but will just mention the "Cons"--
1. Freezing. We were there in August and they kept the place 50 degrees. Even my husband and kids were cold. The staff was complaining how hot they were. Change the uniform! All the guests are freezing in shorts and tees and staff has polyester. It sort of bothered me that the desk laughed when I asked why it was so cold. "We wish is was 20 degrees colder!" Gee, well, by all means, let's make sure the staff is happy.
2. Don't bother with the laser show--overrated. We regret the time spent doing it. We would have had a better time checking out other exhibits.

Great science center! We were there for Mess Fest and loved the creative stations to learn and make a mess. I’m glad that was included with admission. We paid extra to see “Laser Floyd” in the planetarium and it was awesome! Kids ages 7, 11, 14, and 16 loved it too! Very cool.

Glad we went but having been to other science centers and museums "as an adult" was disheartened to find far more geared for kids. Having said that if you have kids...BRING THEM HERE!

Was there to see the documentary on Ireland. Wasn't thrilled with the movie but thought the center was great!

My teen suggested this place for our weekend in Pittsburgh, and we ended up having a great time. Neither of us had ever been to a laser show, so we saw the Queen one, and it was a lot of fun. There were a lot of demonstrations both inside and out going on the day we were there. Most of the exhibits are very interactive and the museum was busy but still navigable on a Saturday afternoon. The guitar exhibit was fun to play with. The gift shop was very reasonably priced too. We're both bummed that we missed the robot room that we noticed later on their website later, so we will be back at some point to check that out.

A fine museum this with four floors of varying displays. The natural world on the first floor with prehistoric fish stacked to the wall and, a live bull frog in a tank with only hid head visible above a green film and a view from the window of a submarine in the dock outside.A space module on the next floor. On the third a room of robots had been suppressed but still a giant train set in the adjoining one. On the floor above dissections of body parts.

Went as a family with my wife and our four year old, my son had a blast and wanted to spend all day there. We all enjoyed our time there it's hard to choose what was our favorite I really enjoyed touring the requin, which is a submarine that you can tour. They also had an amazing miniature railroad exhibit and a great temporary exhibit on guitars, my only gripe is that the gift shop doesn't really sell much stuff with the museum name on it, it mostly just has stuff that is overpriced and kids beg to get when you can get the same stuff for a fraction of the price elsewhere that has no tie to the museum

Thought to take the incline with the kids then go to museum. How do you get from Incline to the science center?

Are the exhibits geared towards kids or can a group of adults appreciate the museum?

The exhibits are geared towards kids as in there is lots to touch, cool things to see that attract kids, and things to figure out. It is also interesting to adults on a different level because the explanations about science adults will process on a deeper level, the submarine is great, and lots of things adults would find interesting to look at too. If the Lego exhibit is still there all the adults and children found that amazing!

It depends on your energy level and time constraint.I go frequently with my grandchildren \.We do 3-4 hours depending on the programs(EXCELLENT)scheduled.A lunch break is helpful in their spacious cafeteria (buy or bring).Plan on more time than you scheduled.Always a fine experience for ALL ages.
Can we bring and use a camera

There is plenty of parking across the streets in the stadium parking lots. I would assume there is RV parking nearby as they tailgate for football games
