My wife and I drove up 120 miles from Maryland with our three grandchildren ages 5 years to almost 11 years of age. First, we were greeted by SMILING parking lot attendants at the free parking lot. There were plenty of parking spaces. There was a free picnic area nearby to the parking area so we had our picnic lunch there right after our arrival around 11:45 am. There is no admission charge to the amusement park, but there are tickets needed for all of the rides. We were most interested in the water park so we bought an all-day inclusive ticket for each of us. You saved $5.00 per ticket by buying online. The water park was great and our grandchildren loved it. A nice lazy river, two somewhat high tube or mat slide towers. One had three slides and the other two. There were plenty of lounge chairs, but they became occupied quickly. Cabana's with chairs, lounges and tables were available for $80. (We'll get one of those next time to have some shade.) There were large umbrellas around the lounge area of the water park, but seating there was quickly gone. There were nice grassy areas to spread out a towel or blanket. I noticed the lifeguards right away. Very serious yet friendly and very much all business with continuous scanning of the crowds. A first class operation those guards. There were several food venues around the water park.
The amusement park may be divided into three parts. First are the "kiddie" rides for children under 7 or 8. Then there are the more adult and vigarous rides. There is a delightful, traditional, historic and quite large merry-go-round.It is under a large roof. Lastly are the food venues. My wife said the hoagies were great. I shared a pepperoni pizza with my 5 yearold grandson. It was yummy. The food was all reasonably priced. The entire park is cashless taking only credit or debit cards, or gift cards which may be purchased with cash and then used throughout the park. Signs are posted for each ride clearly specifying the rules and attributes of each ride. All together a very nice day in a very clean, friendly, and well staffed park.

Great little amusement park for kids under 12. Park is very clean. The food is excellent. The water park is great too. So many things to do for all ages. Nice cabanas. Clothes park is also very clean. Staff at both parks were so friendly and efficient.

We go at least once a year to Degrosso's park (to both water and ride sides). They are both always pleasant but over the last couple of years things have gone substantially down hill. On the water side, I was with my young daughter of 10 who wanted to go on a water slide. They said no phones or glasses. My daughter has very bad eyesight and cannot see without her glasses. So, I escorted her up all the stairs, she got on the slide (without her glasses) and I walked back down with them. I was greeted by a manager stating phones and glasses are not permitted on the ride. I explained she couldn't see and that I was just taking her up there and walked back down. They said I could not do that. I asked to speak to an adult because this manager was very young and giving a lot of attitude (power trip for a teenager type). She said she was an adult, that she was 18. I said I didn't do anything wrong I was just taking her up so she could see and not trip on the stairs which are very high. She kept wanting to argue (even after I said, this was not good for my daughter to be around) and so I said I need to find my other kids, and walked away. She said she was calling security. She was angry because I walked away and did not want to engage any further.
Security followed my daughter around for a bit while I was looking for the rest of our party, and then I turned around and said "are you all following us, if you are, I'm sorry we weren't trying to ignore you." They proceeded to accuse me of yelling at the 18 year old and I said it's loud and I can barely hear but I wasn't belligerent or non-compliant. I explained that I walked back down with the glasses and phone after Natalie got on the ride. They said that I still should not have done that, that they could have someone escort her up. I said "no one ever told me that." Courtney, the supervisor over the manager that yelled at us, said we could stay if I apologized to the manager. I was floored and looked at her saying "You apologized for her and now you want me to apologized directly to her for walking away and not engaging in further interaction? Then the manager apologized but the supervisor still insisted (even though she was not there) that I had to apologize for "yelling" or we would be removed from the park.
A) Although I complied, I did think I wouldn't be able to take a phone in my waterproof pouch around my neck with us on the ride. So, I didn't leave the phone with anyone before approaching the ride (and I wasn't going to leave my phone unsecured). Splash Lagoon, Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, Camelbeach Mountain, Kalahari, Waldameer, Idlewild, etc. are much better. Don't waste the $30-40 to go to Delgrosso's. There are so many other things that I saw done to other strangers and to us even on the park side. I could write a book.

Very well managed park! Not a lot of rides but enough for a little fun. The water park is beautiful and super clean. Staff is extremely courteous which is so rare. Food was reasonably priced and very good. The kids and adults enjoyed the day!

This park is great for kids and even better because you only pay if you ride so parents can save! I'm thinking middle school might be the max age. If you want the water park, you have to buy the fun pass. We got our Tix at Weis and saved about $10 each.
The potato salad was amazing. I went back to take 2lbs home with me and it was sold out. Pizza was good but super greasy and we got sloppy Joe fries which were also good! Baked ziti with meat sauce was so good! The prices were very affordable.
The water park is really great!!! So nice and the lazy river has interactive components to it. Which was hilarious. You can interact if you aren't in the water! Tons of food options there as well.
The reason for 4 stars is because we got inline for the crazy mouse at 745, park closes at 8pm. It was the last right of the night obviously for us and just as we were the next let on, a gentleman stepped in front of us and told us the line was closed at 7:58pm. There was a small line behind us. I've never been to a park where they don't let you on if you are in line. I totally understand they closed at 8pm, then why didn't they have that man stand in line at 745 to close it?! It was hard for my 5 yr old to understand and frankly hard for myself to understand. None of the other lines close by were shut down. We could've rode some of the less popular ones for the 13 mins instead. Huge bummer to end the night that way.

The water park had something for everyone, all ages. Especially enjoyed the lazy river. Family oriented and safety conscious. I never saw so many lifeguards. And their total focus was on their job. All the food was delicious especially the pizza. If you want to do like us, water park for most of the day, then changed and drove across the road to the amusement park. ( not sure if parking would be available on the weekends). The amusement park was nicely laid out and clean, but was the same old rides we’ve been on dozens of times. Again very safety conscious. Have a very enjoyable day

First visit for 1 adult , 3 teens. Got there late (1 hour before closing) on the way to state college. It was the best deal for the kids to do the sundown all you can ride pass. We didn’t do waterpark but it looked nice. We didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on food. There is nothing wild here and the only coaster is a wild mouse. It’s more like a carnival but with I liked it. It has an old fashion feel to it. The staff were so warm and welcoming. I would definitely visit again and try waterpark! Parking and admission are free. The scenery surrounding is very pretty.

The park was very small. Recommend if you have small children. Not for us. Only 2 small coasters. Nice was the free admission if your not going to ride and inexpensive to spend a few hours.

It had been many years since I was last here, so a friend and I included it on our trip itinerary. The park is very clean. The rides are in good condition. Most employees are very friendly. The food was pretty good. Prices are affordable. The water park is included.

The last major amusement park in Pennsylvania for me to visit, I wasn't expecting to be so delighted... and disappointed by not having more time to spend in the amusement section as well as the charming Italian-themed water park. In our two hours, we enjoyed delicious pizza while waiting for the rides to open, following by enough time (and short enough lines) to experience a wide assortment of family-friendly roller coasters and flat rides. Everything was well-maintained, the employees friendly, and the attractions diverse. We'll absolutely return in the future- allowing more time for everything, of course.

Hello,
My family will be visiting in a few weeks. I was wondering if stroller wagons such as the Wonderfold are permitted?
Thank you!

Are cabanas available to rent for the Sundowner Pass time block or are they all occupied by people who came earlier in the day?
Đã viết vào 16 tháng 7, 2019
You may rent a cabana if it is available for the day you are looking for but there is no special pricing discount for renting it just for the sun downer time.

Where is a decent priced hotel close by to stay ? As we will be tracing few hours to get there . Would had to have to turn around n drive all the way back home .

The two closest to the park Comfort Suites Altoona (Pinecroft Exit off I-99) and Days Inn Suites Altoona (Pinecroft Exit off I-99). These are the closest (3-4 miles away). You can find a list of all the hotels in the area (incase you want one that is maybe further away but has restaurants and shopping near by) by visiting The Explore Altoona Website.

Is a Cabana rental worth it? If so, which section do you prefer? Island or Wave? Thanks!
Đã viết vào 10 tháng 7, 2018
I don’t think it’s worth it. Ironically enough they just added the island ones this year as it was a great (and FREE) place to sit last year for those of us who knew better. The island was nice because everyone grabbed the first chairs they saw when they came in and never made the trek over to the island. So it was centrally located. Quiet. Near food. And right on the lazy river. Now they added the “Island Cabanas” and started charging for them. If I had to pick between the two, I would still go with island.

Why do you only have pepperoni sauce on the pizza? Why don't you have your traditional pizza sauce on your cheese pizza? Some people don't eat meat, and having a meat sauce only option is rather limiting.

Thank you for your question. We will pass this along to our management team and food service staff.

hi- we were in the area last summer and I had promised my kids we would stop at this park on our way home to NJ. Well turned out to be a cold, rainy day and the water park was closed and we decided to skip it all together and just drive home. SOOOO here we are a year later and they keep asking when are we going to that Amusement Park in Pennsylvania?? I have a free night at a local hotel and I was thinking of driving out to PA and doing this park one weekday this summer. Are there any days I should avoid- like loaded with camp groups, etc? We'd definitely come on a weekday- not a weekend. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

Amusement parks are always less crowded on a Monday or Tuesday. The later in the week the bigger the crowd.

Are there any gluten and dairy free options for food at the park??
Đã viết vào 12 tháng 1, 2018
Thank you for your email. We offer gluten free pasta at our pasta fresca house on the water side. You can send an email to our food service team from our website to get more information on all of our food offerings.

Hello!
My family of 5 just wants to use the water park section. I understand I still have to purchase the fun pass-which I did online. Is there any shade and are there enough chairs? If there isn't any available chairs can you bring your own or is there another area to sit with beach mats? Also are you able to take a small cooler with some drinks? Do they provide the beach towels or should I take my own?
Thanks so all the help! We are excited to swim!
Đã viết vào 2 tháng 8, 2017
