Attended Pumpkin Patch activity and kids loved it. We rode (and I operated) a real antique trolley, and there are many there to see and remember.

The trolley grounds are spectacular. We walked around for about 45 minutes. There's trains and working trolleys.

Not worth the drive from Pittsburgh. Stay home and read online about the history of trolleys. The trolley ride was boring other than the screaming children behind me.

Disappointing because you can't see the interiors of the trolleys, and the exteriors are ugly. One trolley looked like a luxury trolley; I wish I could have seen the interior.

I've ridden on gorgeous trolleys in Italy, and my memory of the interior of the trolley on the Duquesne incline was gorgeous. These trolleys were disappointing in comparison.

Website is not up to date. Website still posts schedule of guided tours, which don't exist.

We traveled a great distance just to see this place, but we were a little disappointed. First, we went for a trolley ride which was nice. Then we boarded a different trolley and were taken to the trolley collection building. Once there we were given a quick (15 minute tour) of the place. There wasn't even enough time to read the information boards by each trolley. Back at the starting area, there is a building which houses all of the operating trolleys. Besides to 2 that we rode, I saw 7 others in the building Unfortunately, the entrance to the building was roped off, and they didn't take us in to see the other trolleys. We we gone in less than 2 hours.

I spent a few hours at the Trolley Museum on a Sunday and did not leave disappointed. I've always loved watching trains, and riding the occasional trolley or subway. I wasn't sure what to expect at the Trolley Museum, but feel it was a nice way to spend a few hours learning about these people movers and the history of how they've changed over the decades.
Driving from Pittsburgh, the Museum is very easy to find from the first sign on 79 S to the signs leading you right into the parking lot which has plenty of room for parking.
The first part of my trolley ride was on a Philadelphia & West Chester Traction Co #78 which wound it's way around the museum grounds on a nice, relaxing ride. The second part of the trolley ride was on a New Orleans Public Service 832 which stopped at buildings that housed the extensive collection of trolleys.
The men that operated the two trolleys were full of information, and took time to answer questions before getting everyone safely back to the entrance area of the Museum.
Definitely a great place for families with children to enjoy learning and experiencing trolleys. It's also a nice place to visit if you're a railfan who appreciates anything that runs on tracks, or just someone reliving memories of years gone by.
Gift shop is full of books, toys and items related to trolleys.

The trolley museum is mostly run by volunteers and they are dedicated and very knowledgeable. There is a small exhibit with hands on toys for the kids and they can even try to drive a streetcar using the simulator. We got to ride two different streetcars and had a tour of the trolley museum. A fun place to visit.

Two long rides: one of the "streetcar named Desire," the other on a SEPTA interurban... and a great museum, too. This place is huge 50+ cars, and they are expanding.... I'll be back

Have taken grandchildren to visit the trollys and wstch the minature trains. They always have great outing for the Hollidays, we went for Halloween, pumpkins, cornstalks and a fun ride on a trolley, with stories and songs.

What a treat for us! We greatly enjoyed being able to ride on trolleys from two different eras: 1917 and 1932. Most of the stock is from nearby Pittsburgh, naturally, but as Philadelphians, we were pleased to see several examples from Philadelphia, as well. In fact, we used to ride on one of the SEPTA models used on the Broad Street line when we were college students in the late 1960s!
The original New Orleans "Streetcar Named Desire" streetcar is there!
The conductor and the driver were dressed in uniforms that were copies of early 20th Century uniforms. The information was presented winsomely and with large infusions of humor. Visitors of all ages thoroughly enjoyed themselves. In all, we spent about two hours, but we could have easily stayed longer, there was so much to see. We'd like to bring our grandchildren here one day.

One suggestion: It would help to have a map accompanying the written directions on the website, specifically showing how to get to the museum from the center of Washington and distances. Signage along the road would also help.

Well of COURSE the troley museum has trolleys. Many of them! But it also tells the history of when trolley companies, often private operators, ran public transportation...back when everyone rode a trolley or train every day, before there were two cars in every garage and vast government-owned interstate highways to take individuals wherever they choose to go.
The staff here, mostly volunteers, are very knowledgable and friendly and the trolley ride is interesting for kids and adults. It doesn't matter how old you are, you will learn something here.
