Son unos jardines muy bonitos para dar un paseo, aunque personalmente me gustó más el camino para llegar a ellos.
Se puede ir caminando (unos 20-25min) y es una zona de bosque frondoso donde apenas entra la luz y está todo super verde y bonito, también se ven cascadas incluso en verano... El entorno es precioso.
También hay un autobús gratuito que va desde la entrada a la abadía hasta los jardines y vuelta.

Really pleased we visited. The garden is an ongoing work in progress and very much a working garden rather than something highly manicured. Lots to see and information boards up to tell you about the things being grown, as well as the history of the garden.
The flowering beds were particularly lovely. One of the staff came to chat to us whilst we took photos and was very friendly.
Lots of varieties of tomatoes are grown in the glasshouse and there were shelves with flowering plants and produce for sale in there too. It would’ve been nice to see some more produce on offer, as we did see some courgettes, marrows, blackberries, chard and tomatoes ready for picking, but maybe we visited a little early in the day (late morning).
There is also a café on site, adjoining the garden, but we didn’t visit this.
Really great to see it being so lovingly looked after.

For personal reasons I particularly wanted to visit the Victorian Walled Garden. The volunteers are doing an excellent job and I was really impressed. I wish my veggies were as abundant and healthy as theirs!

Having visited this Victorian Walled Garden on several occasions it is good to see how the project is progressing. The volunteers have made a magnificent effort to bring back the gardens from a state of dereliction. The greenhouse is of particular interest with its very clever ventilation system and sliding ladder for picking grapes and other high level plants. Lovely

Paid a visit here during a beautiful summer day and really enjoyed the experience. The garden is a work in progress and the volunteers are doing a great job of putting heritage fruit and veg gardens together. You can see the way the garden has developed from an overgrown and neglected ruin to a productive and welcoming space. There is no fee to enter (or to park locally) but donations are welcome and much deserved. A calm and lovely place to visit - and you can buy some of the produce in the small shop n the corner of the garden.

We visited today. Despite early in the year, a beautiful place to visit.
Especially enjoyed the herb plot and loved looking in the head gardener’s hut with intriguing garden tools.
Very friendly staff too.
Unfortunately spoiled by horrific waft of fry ups via the vent of adjacent cafe - what a shame! Surely something can be done about this?!

Der Grund für den Ausflug in den Saumarez Park war der Victorian Walled Kitchen Garden. Ein bißchen versteckt hinter dem kleinen Restaurant im Park lohnt sich ein Besuch auf jeden Fall. Der Eintritt ist frei.
Man kann Kräuter, Gemüse, Bäume und Sträucher bestaunen wie sie hier in dem geschützten Bereich hinter hohen Mauern gedeien. Man kann sogar Sämereien kaufen, was Hobbygärtnern wie mir immer besonders viel Freude macht.
Sogar Prince Charles und Camilla waren schon hier zur Einweihung - wenn das nicht ein weiterer guter Grund ist, um einen Blick in diesen "Secret Garden" zu werfen :)

This was a delightful interlude, and the volunteers that are trying to restore this are working hard and passionately to bring this garden back to life. It needs more support from visitors and the Island as well. See my review of Saumarez Park for more details.

Classic walled garden within Saumarez park in the centre of the Island- worked at by an enthusiastic team of volunteers. We have over the years seen digging and removing vegetation from the overgrown site to what it is now. At the time of our visit- the weather had taken its toll - very hot and dry. Nonetheless the volunteers enthusiasm was undimmed Well worth a visit.

a walk round the Victorian garden is very informative. all plants and vegetables are labelled so you do not have to guess what you are looking at. there is a little shop which sells craft items hand made by the locals. great place to get an unusual gift

I unfortunately broke my ankle a couple of weeks ago, and will be on crutches will this be a problem?

The site is level or has shallow gradients. There are seats around the garden, but, if you need a chair a volunteer will find you one.
