Si trova a pochi km da Panguitch, lungo il percorso per il Bryce Canyon. Dei parchi nazionali e statali che abbiamo visitato nello Utah, questo era il più bello, il più sicuro e il più colorato. E' fantastico il verde dei boschi di conifere che contrastano con il rosso delle spettacolari guglie rocciose di arenaria. Posto assolutamente fantastico per fare escursioni con fantastici sentieri. E' una sorta di Bryce Canyon in miniatura. Ottimo posto per le foto. Non perdere questo piccolo gioiello della natura!

We hiked the Arches Trail. At this elevation and our age we had to stop and rest frequently, but trail was beautiful. Some areas are steep and cautious footing is needed. Stop at visitor center first to get recommendations on trail choice and condition. Wear sturdy shoes, no flip flops.

A 6 millas de Panguitch, en la Hwy 12, se inicia el RED CANYON el “vecino pobre” del Bryce Canyon, lleno de impresionantes formaciones hoodoos, acantilados rojos, suelo rosado y pinos ponderosa. El Red Canyon está lleno de tesoros geológicos pero sin la aglomeración de turistas que abarrotan el Bryce Canyon.
El visitor center se halla ubicado en la Hwy12 y ofrecen rutas muy interesantes y para todos los gustos. La visita de todo el Red Canyon es gratuita.

It's a small stop but worth it. Staff are super knowledgeable and take the time to show you the best stops along the way. They have a small gift shop and had (September 2019) Woodys Owl patches *insert squeal here*. They also have stamps for your National Parks Passport and/or journals as well as clean bathrooms and a good-sized parking lot. There seemed to be trails all along the back of the building as well.

This is a great place to stop and get info, and to hike Red Canyon trails. The visitors center and outdoor restrooms are open 8-5, but the restrooms are often closed even when the visitors center is open, which is pretty frustrating. Just during the 10 minutes or so while I was there probably 20-30 people came in asking why they were closed. They sell a few souvenirs--night quite as many as the Bryce Canyon visitors center down the road, but still a good assortment. The parking lot is very large, so no trouble finding parking. There is a short interpretive trail, and a number of longer hiking trails ranging from around .5 miles to about 6 miles. There are bike paths and all-terrain trails (like Castro Canyon) nearby as well. The staff was friendly, but not overly informed about the less frequented trails.

This Visitor Center has a lot of cars stopping by. But is is CLOSED! And so are their bathrooms. With the amount of car traffic I saw in late April, they are opening too late for the season. This Visitor Center was also closed last year when I was there in late April.

Stopped in to see the visitors center - nice area with knowledgeable staff. The 'salt and pepper' are directly behind the visitors center and a short hike behind it. Trinkets and souvenirs are priced cheaper then what I found in the stores.

By the visitor center for Red Canyon there is a nice trails area. There are nice red rock views as well as views of trees. Its a short drive from Bryce Canyon and worthy to visit if in the area.

This easy but steep trail was so beautiful. We found out about it from the Red Canyon Visitor Center. A couple of arches, lots of windows and hoodoos. Rock colors so vibrant and pretty as it is in the whole area. We love this area especially Bryce National Park.

Newer station with friendly rangers and staff. Get your park passport stamp here while you enjoy the close ups with a few hoodoos and driving through a couple arches along the way to Bryce Canyon.
Small station with a few hikes so not 5 stars.
