Loved our afternoon visit to the Jugendherberge (aka Youth Hostel) majestically perched above the village of Bacharach. Full of lovely youth (looked like pre-teen field trip/camp). Fabulous view. Fascinating use of former castle. I’d love to stay there someday…

Great am ian e, very friendly front desk staff, chefs wonderful and helpful, great night sleep in great beds, spotless and clean everywhere including showers

Oggi la struttura ospita un ostello della gioventù ed è sicuramente una bella soluzione per chi voglia visitare la valle del Reno godendo di un panorama veramente bellissimo. Vi si accede solo a piedi, percorrendo un sentiero pavimentato che si arrampica fin sul vecchio castello partendo dal centro dell'abitato sottostante.
Giunti sopra si gode di una bella vista sul fiume e sul paese e ci si può rinfrescare bevendo qualcosa al bar dell'ostello.

I wanted to stay one night inexpensively in a castle which was a big mistake. My husband and I are in our early 60's and despite my knowing ahead of time that there would be bunkbeds, there was no room to place one of the mattresses on the floor to let my tall husband stretch out. The room was much narrower than the picture of a private room that they sent me. It was our worst night's sleep of the trip. I also had to ask for soap and shampoo which was supposed to be included. The breakfast was also the most basic of our trip. Save your money for lodging that will be comfortable.

We stayed in Bacharach, and planned to visit the castle, but were worried about my 83 year old mother hiking up the hill. There is a road however, that goes above the castle, where you can park, then take a short walk down to the castle. The castle is also a hostel now. The snack bar serves wine, beer, coffee, soda and snacks, at great prices. Lovely place to sit, enjoy a drink and the beautiful view over the Rhine River.

Mooi slot bovenop de heuvel. In circa 15 minuten kan je er naar toe lopen. Wel een klim, maar goed te doen. Het uitzicht is meer dan de moeite waard!

I talked my mom into staying here for a night because I was determined to stay in a castle. Our main suggestion is to take a cab! It's not very expensive and you do not want to walk up the mountain. The hostel is built right into the castle, so there are uneven steps and I would not recommend it to elderly guests. However, we thought it was charming for the night. It is a hostel, so you're sleeping on bunkbeds, and it's popular with school groups, it was overrun by 12 year olds while we were there. I would not have stayed longer than one night, but it was fun for just that!

Der Blick von hier über das Rheintal ist ganz toll. War hier auf der Burg in der Jugend-
herberge unter gebracht. Service und bernachtung sehr gut.

Tolle Jugendherberge mit Schlosshof und Blick über das Rheintal. Der Weg hier hoch ist etwas anstrengend aber es lohnt sich jede Stufe hoch zu steigen. Natürlich sind die Zimmer nicht so ausgestattet, wie an anderen Standorten, aber der Charme des
Schlosses entschädigt für Alles.

Schöner Spaziergang zur Burg. Für ältere Personen mit Gehhilfen nicht zu empfehlen. Rundgang zu empfehlen. Aufstieg lohnt sich. Zugleich kann an die Werner Kapelle besichtigen

Sure. ..from the city centre you can take a taxi up to the castle. We went up by car, there is a parking spot next to the castle to park as well.
