Small chapel that was a nice visit soon after entry into the park from the South.
This was a very nice chapel for the times it was built. The stained glass windows were beautiful. It was nice to be in this small house of God, that had a simple altar with a cross in the window out upon the Grand Tetons.
(only thing that marred that view were some large black flies all on the window, though. They went after the brightest light, after coming in through the swinging door.)
Still, we donated a few dollars and got a few really picturesque post cards.

This is a fully functioning log cabin church in the middle of nowhere on our way to Jackson. The inside is well-maintained - a chance to pray or reflect, plus a million dollar view of the Tetons right through the front window, above the altar. There is a lovely walkway from the road to the church, and wildflowers are blooming in the field all around it. Check out the other buildings and benches to the side, and be sure to sign the guestbook inside the church.

This place was so beautiful inside and out. With the mountains in the background, you can't really take a bad picture here. Definitely worth the stop.

Église pittoresque qui n'a rien de très exceptionnelle.
Par contre la vue sur le Grand Teton est absolument magnifique avec ou sans l'église en premier plan. Si en plus, un collier de nuages vient ceinturer la montagne, alors vous pourrez prendre de très belles photos.
(Activité incluse dans le circuit "Splendeurs de l'Ouest Américain" de Salaün / Revamerica)

We visited on Sunday, July 4th. I would have liked to see the inside of the building, but there was a late morning service going on that we were unaware of. The public is welcome to attend the prayer services offered. This would make a beautiful, quaint wedding spot!

Beautiful little chapel set in the Grand Teton National Park. Directly across the parking lot are several other historic buildings. It is a short and easy walk to see them all.

A quick stop with a beautiful backdrop for a photo op that is very close to the entrance by Jackson. An even better photo backdrop is nearby at Mormon Row.

I don't understand the draw to this site. I likely don't appreciate something about it's history that makes it appealing to others but I was underwhelmed. There is a nice view but you can say that about a thousand locations near there.

A totally peaceful and serene stop. The back window of this small log chapel is totally open. All you see is a single cross with the Tetons in the background. Who needs stain-glass windows with that view. I got my most favorite picture there with the split rail fence in the foreground and the Tetons in the back ground. Gorgeous. I can only imagine a wedding here! From the chapel follow the path down to the river where the ferry was once pulled across the water along the cable.

We stopped here while in Grand Teton National Park. Behind the chapel are the Teton mountains which makes for a gorgeous view. At the front of the chapel is a window with a view the Teton mountains. If you're into seeing unique or beautiful chapels, I recommend stopping here.

As I know they have a Sunday worship on every Sunday in summer. I can not put their link to this site, but search St. John's Epicopal Church and Chapel of Transfiguration. It says the Holy Communion at 8am and 10am on Sundays.

I was there at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct.... another time that could be snowy or clear.... everything was fine. For everywhere we wanted to go, we just kept a watch on the National Park website for GTNP - they do a good job of posting up to date info on the roads.
