My experience visiting Kep National Park was an amazing experience. The park is a place of relaxation and tranquility. I was able to see some of the most beautiful views in the world. There are plenty of activities you can do at the park. I would recommend this place for people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

There's a small fee of $1 to enter this fun park, but it's worth it. Drinks can be had at Led Zep restaurant before you make the long 8km hike. Don't forget to wear your soft training shoes! I did it on my motorbike, and it was a bit bumpy at times. Worth a visit if you have a few hours to spare.

Easy walking trails and nice coastal view. Takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to complete the circuit. Steeper tracks can be walked but the main one is easy to walk.

We got lucky not to have any rain in the end of July.
Next to Veranda Resort there is a parking spot if you bring your car. You'll find a hand drawn map (see my pix) and a booth with a cashier/security guy who collects money from foreigners.
Don't be too ambitious aiming to make a full circle and come back to the entrance point - you'll see from my picture attached that exit from the National Park is kind in the middle of nowhere. From there you'd have to walk in the open sun for quite a while.
Or if you get lucky like us, tuk-tuk will pick you up and bring you back to the parking spot.
I would suggest, ideally go till you see the nice and big tree, or till you reach the deserted veranda with a great seaview (kinda mixing which one is first).
Take some rest, pictures and head back. Rest of the trail is quite the same. Unless you're really adventurous and want to check out jungle tracks. Wouldn't recommend it during a rainy season though, unless you're wearing long pants & long sleeves and not afraid of snakes.
It's quite shaded so you won't get too hot, however wearing sunblock or long sleeves would be recommended if you get sunburn easily (like us lol)
If you're doing a morning walk to the tree and back, you won't need to bring anything else with you - go light!
If you're driving a scooter and it didn't rain too heavy days before, it's possible to drive it all the way through the park.
Though they claim you can see squirrels there, we saw none! Oh well, the seaview and the tree were worth it anyway!

Peu d'indications. Du coups peu intéressant pour nous.

For hiking and cycling, which of the two Parks we have to choose: Bokor National Park or Kep National Park? THANKS

I suggest Kep. It is well signed and has good trails for hiking or cycling, with lots of birds, butterflies, some monkeys, etc.
Bokor was not so well signed. We found a footpath at the end of the tarmac road, past the waterfall. It was marked with buddhist flags and seemed good to start but gradually got narrower and less clear, so we turned back. Maybe there are other trails that are better signed though. But nobody could provide a map and the park suffers from development so wildlife is much further in.
I think Kep is better geared up for tourism. I would be worried about getting lost in Bokor. It is still worth going up the hill for the views and the hill station buildings, but I think Kep is definitely better for exploring the park.

One visit of the Park is enough,or can we envisage a second visit? THANKS.

We only made one trip into the park but did not see all that it had to offer. The views over the coastal plains & out to the ocean are spectacular & the track is well marked and an easy walk. If you decide to take one of the traverse tracks (as we did), be prepared for a steep, sometimes tricky, climb off the beaten track. It was a bit adventurous, but well marked.
We met some very experienced bird watchers at an excellent viewing platform who were impressed with the birds they had discovered too.
We were there in the dry season, so any semblance of waterfall did not exist, but it may be quite different for you.
It all depends what you like to do, but I you could circumnavigate in a day & go back the next day again just fun.
Either way, enjoy....

Is it possible to get to the Butterfly Farm from the Park? THANKS.

Oatley, Úc91 đóng góp
We did not visit the Butterfly farm when we were in Kep National Park, but looking over the map that our hotel (Verandah Natural Resort), gave us before we went off to explore the park I can see a reference to the Butterfly farm. So I would have to say that it would be accessible, but the park is big so I would ask a local which would be the quickest route when you are there.
Have a great trip, I'm sure you will enjoy yourself.

The paths in the park are really well marked with yellow signs at every junction giving distance and approximate walking times. So I just did it by myself and so I don't know if there are official guides.
The Squirrel Association put up the signs and I think they are based at the Led Zeppelin Cafe which is on the left on the main road into the park, a short way after you enter (the cafe is marked on the yellow signs too). I expect they could give you lots of info if you go there or contact them somehow.
I can also recommend Mr Thy at the Ocean Mart, next to where the buses stop opposite Kep beach. He is very helpful and trustworthy for booking transport, trips, tours, guides, etc. He may be able to help you arrange something.
Hope this helps.
