Fountain erupts from three to five times a day, depending on the time of the year. Though it’s not so tall as Old Faithful nor erupting as frequently per day, it’s much more broad, erupts considerably longer and viewers are able to enjoy it from much closer.
Fountain’s pool is 6 metres wide compared to Old Faithful’s water column’s 1.4 m. You can watch Fountain from 12 m. away. And its duration is usually 28-30 minutes.
This is an eminently satisfying geyser.
While waiting for it, you may witness for yourself its relationship to the other small geysers around it. Though the $1 brochure map available at the parking lot will help viewers to get more out of their experience, time spent here allows one to see with their own eyes this relationship instead of only taking someone else’s word for it.
