Great location in the park to see the sights and enjoy lots of hiking. Rooms are decent - we stayed in newer wing - food options were limited but we were there over COVID so understandable. Keep in mind this is a historic hotel and there is no WiFi (very little cell service in Yellowstone as well), so if you need WiFi then stay next door at the Snow Lodge which also has some good dining options.

The location is perfect for getting around the park, especially getting places early before the crowds and when the animals are most active. Also the view of old faithful from our room was fantastic.
However, be prepared for musty rooms and, as others have pointed out, no AC, TV or in room refrigerator (a $5 foam cooler from the Food Roundup in West Yellowstone is a worthwhile purchase). If you have any food in your room make sure you mouse proof it as we were awakened one night to a mouse getting into ours.
The buffet is pretty bad - it takes a special ability to make meatloaf that bad. On the other hand, the to-go sandwiches from the Bear Paw Deli made for a good picnic lunch while visiting the park.

This is the neatest building because it is built out of logs. You need reservations way in advance to get into here and it will cost you. But you can wander in and look it over. I stayed here many years ago and it was an experience to walk out the door and head for your seat at Old Faithful Geyser

A historic inn that is beautifully maintained. Even if you aren't staying here, take time to go inside and see the architecture of this place!

Room might be a lot smaller than mammoth and not as up to date. The building and even the lobby is very cool log houses. Excellent location to see old faithful spring eruption.

Worth stopping to check out the grand foyer if nothing else. Very grand to the ceiling as well as enormous fireplace.

We visited Yellowstone recently and had to stop in here to see this beautiful building. It's very impressive. I'd love to stay here someday.

This is one of the worst places we stayed for about $500 a night. Front desk totally disorganized, rooms were like a cheap hotel without air-conditioning or TV, poorly appointed, food was just plain awful, That all said this is a must see visit for the day with wonderful trails and amazing gaisers. Nice too see the Architecture but not to stay here.

Due to Covid, we could not go in but we could look in windows and all around the outside. It is right across from the Old Faithful geyser so it is easy to find. It is so huge and amazing looking. I am sure it is haunted.

Hello, we are staying in the Old Faithful Inn West Wing Standard Room 1 Queen. The room description is "These rooms offer attractive modern furnishings with one or two queen size beds and a private bath. They come with either a tub/shower or shower only." Is there a toilet in the room? Thank you.

Yes, there is a toilet, but everything on that side is a tight fit. The east wing rooms had more space.

June 2018, our family of 4 will be staying at Old Faithful Inn for two nights. We will have our own bicycles. 2 adventurous, 2 not so adventurous. Never been there before and not sure what bicycle trails to take to maximize our limited time there. Any suggestions?

I did see some bicycles on the roads...Yellowstone consists of mountain road loops, you can drive parts of the loops if you want (lower loop; upper loop; grand loop), which descend & ascend with some straight parts. If you want to see everything, the car would be the best and safest way to go. Contact Old Faithful for wise advice. We did the grand loop, started early. It takes all day, glad we did it, but the roads can be challenging.
Old Faithful was always a great ending spot, a lot to see & eat & do there. Gets crowded. Starting early you don't have as much crowds and better parking at the various vistas. Saw the Yellow bus tours which take people to places rather than driving yourself. Have a great trip, so much to see & enjoy!

We were there in October so I can't be sure about the temperature in July. However, it was warm because it is a wide open area with grass, gravel, and blacktop.

I am planning a trip to Yellowstone with my mother who is 80 years old. She has always wanted to see Yellowstone but now has mobility issues. Can anyone point me in the right direction for hotels, sites, restaurants and things to do that are accessible? She can walk and take some stairs, but not many flights at a time. She is mostly sure-footed but can handle some bumps. We visited Charleston recently and she did not do well on cobblestones. Thank you for any help you can offer.
