This is a very good gallery showing both traditional and contemporary art - mainly paintings, prints and ceramics. A wide selection and you would be hard pushed to visit and not identify something you like. Operates Own Art scheme so you can buy and pay by instalements. The are happy to receive people who only want to Look - but you will be tempted!

We stumbled across this gallery quite by accident whilst walking around the delightful North Yorkshire village of Helmsley. The gallery is on two floors neither of which, I'm afraid, are wheelchair friendly.
However, there is a wonderful range of paintings by local artists ranging from well known (and well-loved) popular tourist spots to the wild open North Yorks Moors and surrounding coastal towns.
There is clearly a thriving artistic community in this part of North Yorkshire - a similar gallery has opened recently in Staithes. It's great to see that local artists can display their works and sell them - if you are so inclined to buy.
I only wish we lived closer!
