Tigre trail

This place has an amazing view. The food is regional and tasty. The service good. We walked 5 km, the trail was good, but not for beginners. Then, we finished 3 more km in 4x4. We really recommend this place

Ballade agréable

Réserve très agréable avec cascades, ponts suspendus, rivière. On peut s'y baigner.
Par contre si on choisit de faire tout le parcours à pied (chevaux ou 4x4 en sus), il faut savoir que le parcours est assez exigent. Sur le parcours principal il y a des montées, des escaliers, et sur la dernière partie la pente est assez raide et longue. Cela n'est pas pour tout le monde, mieux vaut être habitué à marcher. Sinon opter pour le retour à cheval ou en 4x4.

Great activity to do if you are around Monteverde

We made a reservation for an exciting adventure that included a hike to the El Tigre waterfalls and a delightful horseback ride. The hike took us approximately 3.5 hours to complete before we embarked on the horseback ride. The trail was a mesmerizing one-way path adorned with breathtaking waterfalls and charming bridges. Along the way, we took advantage of the opportunity to swim. To our delight, a delicious lunch was provided as part of the package, and the staff members were incredibly friendly and welcoming.

It is a must do in Monteverde! Super pretty place to go for a walk and a swim. The first big waterfall is the best one to go for a swim. So come prepare for it and go straight away in the water.

Amazing but exhausting

We booked the full package which included the hike, a short horseback ride and lunch and had an excellent but exhausting day. We are all in our mid to late 50’s and we’re all able to complete the hike. It’s definitely strenuous and filled with lots of deep steps and great waterfalls. Definitely pay for the horseback ride at the end it’s a great way to cap off the day and you don’t have to hike up a massive hill. The lunch was also great and we ate before the tour which worked for us as we needed the carbs!

Jungle excellence

Beautiful scenery especially with the waterfalls and a couple places to get in and enjoy the water if you'd like. If you take your time and don't rush you can see plenty of wild life.
It's a pretty rigorous hike thru the jungle unlike a few other tours in the area so be prepared for that.

Beautiful and just challenging enough

Perhaps our favorite hike in Costa Rica. The waterfalls are beautiful and the hanging bridges were fun, not scary.

We hiked the entire 8 kms, and the last three are challenging but doable if you’re in good shape. Most people take the horses or 4x4

Lugar excepcional!

Un lugar realmente espectacular, no solamente por la belleza de sus senderos, cataratas y naturaleza en general, si no también por la atención de todos los colaboradores del lugar.

Tomamos el tour completo: pasaron por nosotros al hotel puntual a la hora que nos habían indicado, hicimos caminata por sendero (4 km aprox), zipline bike, regresando a caballo. Cada una de las atracciones perfectamente coordinada, los chicos súper amables y contrario a otros lugares el trato para turista nacional fue excepcional.

Finalmente almorzamos en el lugar.

Relación costo/beneficio nos pareció muy bien.

Definitivamente regresaría.

Very good hiking trail and lovely waterfall

I cannot believe one week has passed since doing this hike. I was not sure what to expect, but I definitely believe this was a challenging hike as you will be descending and ascending through muddy and rocky terrain. It can be quite slippery if you are not careful. However, when you get to see the 4 big waterfalls including El Tigre and the smaller waterfalls, it makes it all worth it as well as getting a nice break in between the hike. At the end, a horse ride or jeep ride awaits to go back to the top where you started, for some nice refreshments. Once you finish this hike you will definitely feel like any other hike you do on your trip or elsewhere is not impossible.

Great time and great people

Great hike! The lodge views were some of the best of our entire trip to Costa Rica. The hike was fun and we saw some amazing waterfalls. The horseback ride up was also fun and much appreciated with the horses doing the hard work uphill. The lunch at the end was a nice treat. Special shout out to the parking lot and lodge crew for helping us fix the flat we had when we rolled into the place. They went above and beyond. Would definitely recommend
