Jorge was a wonderful guide. He guided me on a combo birdwatching and nature walk. He has a magical ability to spot a bird far away in the trees just after hearing its call. I was able to see many birds this way. He took great photos for me and taught me how to take be better photos on my iPhone and use my binoculars. He's an interesting guy and we had great conversation as we walked through the forest and enjoyed the nature around us. One of my favorite experiences on my first trip to Costa Rica!

George was an amazing guide, responsive, easy to work with and fun to be around! I was a solo traveler and he was able to accommodate me which i was delighted to hear. On our tour day, he was prompt and on-time and wanted to hear what my goals for the day were so that he could tailor my experience as best as possible. It was an awesome experience in which i got to see and photograph all of my goal birds that day (specifically the Resplendent Quetzal) and even some others that i didn’t expect! Not only that, but I never felt rushed or slowed down with George and was able to take in as much or as little that i wanted of any given place we visited. Lastly, George knows something about everything in monteverde, and he’s happy to share with you his great knowledge about the flora and fauna as well as history and cultural knowledge (he’s a local) of this amazing place! 10/10 would book again!

George is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his job and it is infectious. No matter the subject he was talking about it was evident the amount of time and effort he has put in.

My guide recommended George’s night tour. The photos came out amazing and his equipment is top notch. George was funny, knowledgeable and his English was perfect. I enjoyed our conversation and learned so much about the wildlife and local culture.

George is an unbelievable guide and we had an amazing experience with him. His expertise guarantees the sighting of beautiful birds and the opportunity to learn about the impressive flora and fauna of his home, Monteverde. It was really special to learn from a local and share his love and respect for the incredible place he calls home. I highly recommend any tour with George of the cloud forest and I will absolutely be back for more! He seriously is a step above the rest!

In 2019 I had a previous tour with George. His vibrant personality and knowledge stayed with me over the years. I knew if I ever made it to Monteverde who I would want to have as a guide. George is a walking encyclopedia of information on all of the animals, birds, insects and even fungi we encountered. He knew how to spot things that I never even saw! I enjoyed the night tour so thoroughly that I booked a second night in order to see even more. George was very helpful with the night time photography and videos as well, I never felt rushed. Perfect English and very charming, you can’t go wrong with George!

We had an amazing nigh walk with George. He has an uncanny ability for spotting even the best camouflaged wildlife, is great fun, fast paced and will even take great photos for you through the scope. Our night tour beat all expectations.

My husband and I had a Amazing Bird Experience with George for private bird tour in Monteverde. We saw so many species of birds in such a short time. George knows all the best spots, is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. We are not experienced birders but George was willing to share his knowledge with us and he also helped me in taking the best bird shots possible with my camera. Also, as a bonus, we also saw the most famous and sought after, Three-Wattled Bellbird (picture below) in Monteverde and the very beautiful Quetzal bird. We really enjoyed our tour with George and Highly Recommend him!

George is the guide the other guides follow. On this walk he led us to a sleeping humming bird, a gorgeous toucan, and an invisible (without George…) eye lash pit viper, and various tough-to-spot insects among other fauna. Listening to the chat among the guides around the refuge it’s clear he is a leader among them. Plus he carries the best scope and the brightest flashlight. Our group tour in Manuel Antonio drove home for me just how exceptional he is - not just a tour guide, but an educated naturalist and conservationist, skilled photographer, and an all around great guy.
