We went to visit menetes, a traditional village up on the mountain. We found a small parking lot in the middle of the village and over there a lady named Irini took us to a very interesting museum and a small church. She told us lots of stories about the history and the culture and it was very interesting!!! She wanted to tell us more but we didn’t have enough time… we will definitely come back again 🤗

Mrs Irene is an amazing lady! Took great pictures of myself and my family while provided lots of information about Menetes and it’s history! A must visit when in Karpathos!

Durante la nostra vacanza a Karpathos in un giorno di pioggia siamo andati a visitare il museo di Menetes con una guida locale molto simpatica che parla perfettamente l’italiano e ha al collo tutte le chiavi del paese. Abbiamo potuto vedere lo stile di vita di tanti anni fa in questi paesi che ci hanno riportato indietro nel tempo.

Mrs. Irene is amazing and funny guide, she knows everything and everybody in Karpathos. We enjoyed the excursion to the history of the island and Menetes. She took really great pics of us in nice locations around the village, showed us her house - I very recommend this.

We had a great experience with the friendly lady Irene that gave a lot of information about the city and the history of the village. You really get in touch with the way the people live in Karpathos and the warmth and hospitality of the residents there. I would strongly recommend the trip to anyone who passes through Mikenes!

De geweldige gepassioneerde Irina nam ons mee in de geschiedenis van Karpathos alsof ze zelf in die tijd geleefd had en op een leuke grappige wijze. Er sloten zich 2 Italiaanse gezinnen met ieder 1 meisje bij ons aan. Ze vertelde in Italiaans en in het Engels. Vroeg om onze camera’s en maakte van iedereen foto’s. Het werd een echt interactief museum bezoek.
Wij zijn niet zulke museum mensen maar dit was een geweldige ervaring. Een echte aanrader!!!!!

Il piccolo museo di Menetes da modo di scoprire come lo scorrere del tempo abbia modificato le nostre abitudini e ci mostra la semplicità della quotidianità. La signora Irene, curatrice del Museo, ci accompagna con simpatia e con scioltezza in questo breve viaggio.

My family and I went for a weekend in Karpathos Island. Following tripadvisor I planned on stopping at Menetes museum, sadly our flight arrive with a huge delay... We arrived to Menetes on the same day by 17:00 after the museum opening hours just to find the incredible Irene offering a tour in!!!
We got a taste of Karpathian history and culture. I strongly recommend you to plan a visit in her little museum you won't regret it!!

She had nice stories and was very friendly. The cave used as a shelter in ww2 next to the museum was really nice the lady at the museum showed us the entrance
