This is a real gem! I only discovered this beach recently, having lived in Qatar for four years. From Doha, it is only a 40-minute drive.
The beach is a good place to take young children. When we visited, it was clean and looked well-maintained. Beachgoers should know that the beach is predominantly sandy with some areas with stone. As well as large play areas for the children, the beach has many umbrellas and benches to provide shade. Even though there are cafeterias on the beach, they don't appear to be in operation. While there are prayer rooms and bathrooms on the beach, there are no shops, so it's best to bring your own supplies.

Al Khor is around 50 minutes drive north of Doha and Farkeh Beach is around 5 minutes drive from Al Khor town centre and well signposted. A new road to the beach means standard car can access beach parking. Huge beach with shallow waters ..not ideal for swimming but a peaceful spot and nice day out from Doha. Some facilities. Take binoculars to see the fishing Dhows coming in and out of Al Khor harbour and lots of bird species.

It’s a clean and nice beach full of life and nature. We enjoyed ourselves especially the kids. They had a fabulous weekend

Абсолютно дикий пляж.В перемешку местные и туристы. Но туристов мало, так как далеко ехать. Если едут на ралли , то попадают и искупаться.Но естественно нет никакой инфраструктуры( раздевалок, душа и т.д.) Но вода чистая, берег хороший, Поплавала в удовольствие. Тем более, что в Дохе нет ни одного пляжа , где модно было бы купаться в море.......

This beach is the nearest in Al Khor town, it is at the back of Al Khor mall about 2km away. So getting supplies is not a hurdle. Anyone can access it either by Car, Bicycle or just a stroll. Good for a quick and short family getaway. For swimming, I don’t suggest it as this is one of the pathway for fishing boats and safety first should always be considered when swimming. Facilities are available and some children’s playground too.

The approach is now through newly laid road, continue till the end of road (left turn at the round about) and turn right to the entrance gate. There are ample open parking available after passing through the security gate. The beach is very shallow up to 50+ meters in high tide. There are umpteen shades with benches provided. Reasonably maintained washroom and small mosque is available. There are slides, swing and few more play items for children.
Good location to spend time with family.

In Doha is not always free to swim. It is preferable to get to one of those beautiful 5* hotels to enjoy sunbathing and swimming.
At the Farkeh beach, you will see that there are two sections, one for the family, and another for just women. Don’t expect trees or any shadow, only a few straw umbrellas.
Farkeh Beach east of Al Khor was recently upgraded and includes a cafeteria, traffic lights and a better road.
The sand is thick and white but the sea is many meters away from the umbrellas, shallow and muddy, but still, you can see it if not swim! In our case we just drove there out of curiosity. I would not dare put my feet in that water.
How to reach:
Al-Khor is about 50 kilometres north of Doha and it is preferable to reach by the Al Khor Coastal Road (Q1A) passing by the Lusail City, Doha Moto GP racetrack. The time to beach should takes approx. 45 minutes from Doha.
The route to the beach starts from the first roundabout at the end of Al Khor Highway supposed you drive from Doha. Take a right turn on the first roundabout and follow about 2.4km from the roundabout. You will see a Farkeh Coast brown signs. Take your left to an offroad track for another 2.2km. You will reach the beach. Farkeh Beach is fenced beach.
Exit and entrance are through a single security gate.

Very simple and basic beach you must bring all what you need including food and drinks. But it is still a good area for a group barbecue or family picnic

Very relaxing, clean and so spacious. Ideal for family travellers. Kids will enjoy the playground. For family entry only

It is good place for picnic with kids. It is not allowed anymore for BBQ. You can find some facilities: kiosks for food, Prayer room/masjid, toilet.
I do not like when we need to carry our chairs and boxes and walk for long distance on sands because the parkings are far. There is no helpers to help families to carry their stuff, and if you are lucky you will find the cleaners and unfortunately they are opportunists!

Well you can stay only till 12 am as far as i know.coz we came early morning and left by 11pm☺
