Okay, but.....

A nice park for a town centre but our time had to be limited due to parking fees - all streets around attracted a charge or an hour’s limit. But worst of all - no picnic tables! My husband and I brought a picnic which we had to balance on our laps on a park bench. The only picnic tables were in the children’s play area - but adults weren’t allowed in without kids!! All the tables were empty.

Beautiful Kings Park

To have such a beautiful park so close by is a treat. From the lovely walks, beautiful flowers and the river running through, Kings Park is one of the best parks in Nottinghamshire. Perfect for everyone from dog walkers to families.

Second time visit , 1st in summer few years ago. Winter~Spring season not much flower ,but area keep really clean , many setting chair around . Like to see the seaweed in the river .
I found out different carpark charges different,maybe short stay Asda will be the best .

Loved the hidden sculptured seat

Beautiful park full of friendly locals. If you go here you may well meet a charming lady and her little dog who seemed to walk here every day. She has a mobility trolley so if you are her ask about the sculptures seat, we wouldn't have found it if she hadn't told us where to walk and even when we were almost on top of it we thought she must be wrong, but there it was and it is beautiful. Had we had more time we would have more fully explored the park as it seems to cater to everyone from single walkers to families and folk of all ages. Worth a visit

A very pleasant park.

Just a short stroll from the Market Place, this is a nice, traditional town centre park. It has a good range of features, including a formal rose garden, wide open green spaces and plenty of play facilities for children. Best of all, certainly in my opinion, is the lovely river Idle, that flows lazily through the park, and plenty of benches on which to sit and absorb the peaceful atmosphere.

Very good, however, they need to allow people of ages to cycle, safely. Other towns have managed it across the country.

Its a very nice place, but not good for wheel chair users or cyclists of all ages and abilities. Unlike other towns and cities, very backwards, for people with disabilities. Or even just for people who want to cycle.

Beautiful park

A well maintained an award winning park for everyone to enjoy with many facilities including open green spaces, a skate park, play area, seating, rose, formal and wildlife gardens. There is a great variety of trees and a bridge takes you over the River Idle which flows through the park.

Retford is a pretty town with shops for everyone and a lovely church but it also hosts Kings Park which you can easily miss. Look for the signs on posts on the main high street not easily spotted and only a few minutes from the main High St you will find it. the first thing you will see as you enter is a lovely fountain and flower beds a short walk then takes you over a bridge across the river where you will find lots to do, woodland walks, a child's play area, and more, sadly we didn't have enough time to explore more of it but we will certainly be going back just for the park alone.

A lazy afternoon stroll!

We took the buggy out here for an afternoon lazy stroll. Nice bridges and a stream/river running through. A little tough with a buggy, but for slightly older kids it would be great.

Traditional Park with games facilities

Walking through Kings Park on a sunny early summer day under Civid -19 social distancing shows lots of space for people to enjoy the grass areas, the rose beds, see the closed games facility and some beaver spirits to paddle in the river.
