Friendly staff, drinks are a bit expensive. Went during the day time for lunch which was nice, I hear it quite popular with middle aged people(35 up) for night life.

Lovely cafe with friendly service, great espresso based coffee offer and an interesting menu with a variety of dishes from salads through sandwiches and cakes. We had a chicken and a salmon salad and both were generous potions and delicious.
Flat white coffees were great, so we had more!
Enjoyed this a lot and will come back!

Best pub in town , staff are always welcoming. Come quite often and always have a good time. Retfords finest.

Went in for drinks on a sat night with friends and I fought I'd walked into fight club at least it keeps all the idiots in one place I suppose the only upside to it at all

And that's it's only redeeming feature really. It used to be a mainstay of the Retford nightlife but the town's changed, except the Vine. Consistency can commendable but not in this case. Feels like a cross between a youth club and an AA meeting. Cheap but not that cheerfull .

Out with family and friends on a leaving do. On entering the pub I noticed the main entrance is also a smoking area...this needed a good clean up(ash, cig ends and take-away rubbish). The smell of the smoking area was enough to put me off...but seeing as it would be bad manners to leave my party I stayed. Inside...some of the tables were sticky from previous drinks, toilets were unkempt( wet floor, dirty sinks, rubbish in sinks and on the floor. Bolt on toilet door was broken. Needless to say I finished my drink and said goodbye to friends, several others members of the party left too. I shall not be returning.....

Went out with friends on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised! Great atmosphere and drinks were very cheap. However the toilets do need attending to regularly as there wasn't any loo roll and the floor was extremely wet and dangerous.

We visited the pub with a party of friends. We were all amazed by a couple who got up to sing the Pogues song "A Fairy Tale in New York"... this couple were the best singers of the night. The whole pub were joining in with them singing along. They went on to do the Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews song "Baby It's Cold Outside" that was just as good... they should enter Britain's Got Talent... We hope they will be a regular act to tour Retfor and do tribute band themed nights maybe???

What has happened to Friday nights in Retford? This pub used to be heaving but was virtually empty when we came in on a Friday night. Shame!
Lager is fine & still a great location but disappointed that it was empty on a Friday night.

Used to visit this pub a few years ago when they did nice lunch time meals at a competitive price even though it urgently required some updating.
It has steadily got even worse,run poorly by a an owner who was recently found guilty of urinating on more than one occasion in a public place.That just about says it all really.
Not a place for nice people to visit.
