Our little paradise for camping, the Bird Sanctuary is filled with wildlife and various bird species. The campground is in the middle of a reserve, which allowed us to explore the hiking trails, watch ships and enjoy! The water levels were a little low but it didn’t affect our kayaking. We enjoy camping here!

Nous avons eu une belle vacance en famille à la cabane Bobolink située au campement Upper Canada sanctuaire des oiseaux. N’oubliez pas votre literie, vos ustensiles, une cafetière et de quoi cuire vos aliments si ce n’est pas sur le BBQ. L’intérieur de la cabane était très propre à notre arrivée. Vous aurez un lit double, des et un futon à votre disposition. Les toilettes et douchent sont tous près, alors très pratique avec de jeunes enfants. La plage est aussi très près de la cabane. Les enfants s’y sont baignés mais c’est très naturel comme plage et occupés par plusieurs spécimens d’oiseaux alors pas très propre. De plus, un À feu est disponible et vous pouvez acheter votre bois à l’accueil. Le campement est très familial et c’est très paisible comme endroit.

We visited in late August and had a really great morning here. The chickadees land on your hand to eat seeds (if you bring some). There were beautiful lillypads along the water and some great trails. We saw woodpeckers, frogs and turtles as well. Very nice place to visit for a relaxing walk, even with young children.

We normally car-camp with tents and outhouses so booking the Meadowlark cabin at UCMBS was a treat! The campground itself was very nice, relatively quiet, family-friendly and well cared for. The comfort station was among the cleanest I've seen, and the trails and access to cycling along the waterfront trail were awesome. The only reason I can't give the experience 5 stars is because of how hard it was to find relevant info online in advance of our trip. So I'm posting info specific to Meadowlark cabin - the only one in this campground that allows dogs - to help others who may be in the same boat. The cabin offered more amenities than expected: a full size fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster, cupboards in which to put away your own dishes and food, a table with benches, beds for up to 6 people (B.Y.O. bedding), ceiling fans, air conditioning (which we needed!), and a propane BBQ with extra stove element. The cabin had both electrical lights and extra outlets for recharging. There was a water tap adjacent to the cabin. Only the Bobolink cabin next door has an accessible entrance. The two cabins share a private beach area and are adjacent to the main beach. You won't really be roughing it with these cabins but you will enjoy them!

The Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary is a little slice of paradise on the St Lawrence River. Easy hiking trails of varying lengths take you through forests alive with a multitude of birds and wildlife. Chickadees and nuthatches feed right from your hand, especially in the winter. Many species of birds come through at migration times. Plan on a picnic or participate in one of the many events put on by the Friends of the Sanctuary or the St Lawrence Parks Commission. Whatever you plan, give yourself lots of time to explore!

Very clean campground with nice washroom and very nice cabins. The only problem is hard to book cabin because it gets sold fast.

This gem of a place gives you easy hikes on well groomed self-guided trails. Lots of interesting info provided and plenty of wildlife (especially birds) to see. Nice picnic area and interpretive centre with helpful staff.

The kids loved exploring and feeding the birds. The paths were a bit slippery but that is to be expected in the winter. Remember to bring bird feed and the chickadees will eat right out of your hands!

We didn't see many birds, but did see some frogs and squirrels. It was quite hot on the day we were there. The trails are clearly marked, but watch your step. There are tree roots, and in some areas, even a few holes that could trip you up, if not careful. The trails are in good shape, but it is a stroll through nature.

Does anyone have any recommendations on nice sites here for a 20ft trailer? Water view but a bit more private? Considering booking a fall camping trip in October!
