We were pleasantly surprised by our visit to the Lubumbashi Zoo & Botanical Gardens. We visited with low expectations because we are not usually the type to visit zoos, but the park is very clean and well-kept and it's a beautiful green space to walk in amidst the bustling city. There are some unusual trees and flowers for photo opportunities, albeit the species are limited. The animals seem well taken care of, most of the animal enclosures are spacious enough, and the handlers were all very kind to the animals and seem to enjoy a good relationship with them - they were very proud of the park. The park is relatively small - at the time of our visit, the main attractions were 2 lions, 2 tigers, crocodiles, 1 zebra, 2 waterbuck, some jackals and antelope and monkey species. There are 2 restaurant options. We paid US$10 per person entrance fee as foreign visitors. Overall, we enjoyed the morning outing at this park.

I read some other comments. They are funny. "Very very very bad", said a person. I think this person didn't notice that the garden was very well maintained: there are hundreds of different plants and trees. And I think that this person didn't notice that the animals were well fed and that they had enough space. Of course, I agree with that person, zoos are prisons, but Congolese people eat all the animals, including hippos. In the wilderness, these animals, in DRC, wouldn't stand a chance. In their misfortune, they are fortunate to be at this zoo. Anyway, even if you don't agree with my comment, you should go for a walk. That's a very pleasant walk to do!

J'ai visitez le Zoo en 2001 et ensuite 20 ans plus tard, je suis agréablement surpris par l'état et l'entretien de celui-ci.
Il n'y a pas beaucoup d’animaux mais il vaut la peine d’être vu. Le lieux est très bien entretenue ou vous pourriez passer la journée en vous y promenant.
Les animaux y vive paisiblement

Nous avons été agréablement surpris, le zoo est bien entretenu, la plupart des animaux ont l'air à l'aise, à part peut-être les lions et les tigres qui sont de grands chasseurs... Il y a plus d'arbres différents qu'au jardin botanique. La promenade y est très agréable. L'entrée coûte 5 dollars pour les Congolais et 10 dollars pour les autres. Je vous conseille vivement de vous y rendre.

i dont like animals in cages, not nice, i dont agree with the amount of cage space for the girraffes it made my son Achmed, 5 year old male, cry because he was so upset that the animals were in small cages and confined

C'est pas Pairi Daiza ni le zoo de Vincennes mais pour le jeune public congolais c'est une manière de découvrir des animaux. Bien entretenu et propre.

Magnifique endroit très bien entretenu et les animaux beneficient d'un bel environnement , cages spacieuses et adaptées à chaque espèce .

We prefer the pizza here to anywhere else in Lubumbashi as its done the traditional Italian way. Thin base, good cheese and a wood fired oven. The other dishes are good too and the service is super.
There is a good sized car park and you can sit inside the restaurant or outside and watch the chef prepare the pizzas.

ルブンバシ空港から車で約30分、大学病院の近くにある動物園。流石アフリカ。猛獣たちが集う場所。レストランもあり、街中の動物園ではあるが、自然を満喫できる場所。一度訪れてみては。

c'est vraiment un beau lieu de visite d'animaux sauvages et domestiques. il ya les gens de differentes origins( occidentaux, asiatiques, africains,...)

In Congo, people are too dangerous to animals to keep them outside. It's not like in Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya or Botswana. It's a sad reality, but it's a reality. Most Congolese people eat all the animals, including cats and dogs. That's the reason why you won't see cats and dogs either!
