Congo Local Guides Katanga is part of Congo Local Guides (CLG), a Limited Liability Company operating since 2014 and offers City and Villages tours, wildlife and local life experiences tours, Safari, extreme Congo tours, Congo River Expeditions, old and abandoned places tours, cultural tours, etc. CLG covers all D.R.Congo space. This goes from a day to multiple-day experiences up to 30 days.

An incedible adventure

I traveled to the Democratic Republic of Congo in December 2020/January 2021 to photograph some of the country’s spectacular plants and landscapes. I’m so happy I found Christian at Congo Local Guides, because he made turned this wild idea into a reality. From park permits, to government documents, to vehicle hires, he was incredibly knowledgeable at every step of the way. It’s not an exaggeration to say that we couldn’t have done this trip without him. The sites Christian took us to were breathtaking. We visited Upemba National Park and Kundelungu National Park, and were lucky enough to see some of the country’s only wild zebras at Upemba. We saw Kiubo Falls and stayed at the lodge, which shouldn’t be missed. Christian was impressively flexible- we wanted to wild-camp and he made it happen for us. While we went to see nature, the cultural side of DRC was just as incredible. This would have been missed if we didn’t have Christian, who is fluent in French, English, and local dialects. If you’re thinking about traveling anywhere in DRC, I can only recommend Congo Local Guides.

Couldn't have done it without Christian!

My friend Alex & I spent 3 amazing weeks exploring the Katanga region of the Congo from December 2020 to January 2021, accompanied the whole time by Christian from Congo Local Guides. Katanga was relatively safe, but a bit complicated to navigate due to covid and other restrictions, not to mention the language barrier (my knowledge of French is sadly very rudimentary). Christian was always there at every step of the way making sure things flowed as smoothly as possible and doing his best to keep us happy too. We couldn't have done it without him, he's awesome and extremely friendly (as was everybody we interacted with in the DRC)!
