Le site est moyennement entretenu et sa découverte demeure un peu aléatoire. Privilégiez la visite du Cenobio de Valeron

Il s’agit d’un cimetière aborigène comptant près de 800 tumulus (tombes) de guanches peuple autochtone d’origine des Canaries , construit sur un éboulement volcanique .Pour y aller, emprunter la GC 60 San Bartolomé / Fataga , sortir de la GC60 vers le village d’Arteara , traverser le village par la route très étroite qui longe la palmeraie , le site se trouve au bout.
Nous pouvons rentrer sur le site gratuitement, une partie payante ( tout petit musée) est ouverte de 10 h à 14h . 4 euros C’était fermé certainement cause COVID . Prévoir chapeau , eau et éviter tongs . Une boucle de 800 m environ permet de passé au travers des tumulus et d’accéder au point de vue du site.

Die kurze Tour hat sich gelohnt. Der Weg zum Museum ist sehr schön. Geht nach dem Besuch der Gräber wenn ihr wieder retoue geht den Weg rechts runter durch den Palmenhain. Der Weg ist super schön

Fuimos para conocer , ver la historia y los lugares de los antepasados de la isla, pero estaba cerrado la zona donde te explican todo , eso si podrías hacer cualquiera de las rutas a pie por la zona de necrópolis que solo se veían piedras volcánicas (una gran caminata) así que nos fuimos porque hacía mucho calor y no había nadie quien nos dijeses cuál es la mejor ruta . Eso si el pueblo es muy diferente porque ves las casas típicas canarias además el pueblo Arteara se encuentra en El Valle del barranco de Degollada de la Yegua y las vistas son muy chulas, en el mismo pueblo hay un pequeño Oasis que destaca con el entorno

It looked like nothing much but there was a lot of interesting information and the signs made you see things unseen with a naked eye. It is a very important part of Gran canaria's history, so definitely worth visiting.

Necropolis de Arteara is a pre-hispanic cemetery, where you can see some graves. It is located in Arteara, a very little traditional town, in the center of the island, near Fataga. In fact, the town only haa one street.
In the Necropolis, you can see a video that explains the different type of graves and the history of them. Very interesting. Also, you can walk around 1-2km in a circular path and you can see very beautiful views of the gorge and a palm tree zone. Very nice.

El interior de Gran Canaria es un lugar con mucho encanto y en el que puedes disfrutar de algunas actividades culturales y etnográficas de gran interés. A mí en concreto me pareció una buena opción visitar esta necrópolis. Cuidado con la hora porque solo hay visitas de mañana.

Je moet wel een eindje wandelen door een gehuchtje waarbij je begeleidt wordt door zwaar hondengeblaf. Na betaling van wat euro's kun je via een soort pad de diverse oude graven bekijken en uiteraard ook van het uitzicht genieten. De paden zijn niet geëffend maar bestaat voornamelijk uit losse stenen van allerlei grootte. Goed schoeisel en wat klimvermogen is dus raadzaam.

Arteara Necroplis is just a short bus ride from Maspalomas but beware there are no places to have a meal nearby so going by car is probably a better option. First you can walk (or drive) through the village which has a number of interpretation panels about the history of the village. Then you reach the site which looks like a jumble of rocks until you begin the recognise the tomb structures. Take strong shoes and plenty of water as it is quite a hike but well worth the effort. There is also a small well presented museum on site where you can get a drink or an ice cream. Ignore the camel place next door which looks as if it does food but doesn't!
