Great exhibits and superb volunteers
Superb, well-maintained, with gorgeous flying machines. There are some interactive things for kids, and a Virtual Reality flight, but you'll enjoy it most if you like quite traditional and gentle museums, where the focus is on the content rather than whistles and bells. That said, it's not remotely boring, and there's so much fascinating history here, beautifully arranged. If you like planes, you'll love it, and even if you don't, you should get something out of being here if you take the time to explore. The Lancaster Bomber tour (for an extra fee) is something that's probably best for people with an interest in WWII or in planes. I loved every second, and it ran for well over an hour and a half. The volunteers are great and so informative.

Fantastic experiences and museum is incredible
What an amazing museum with incredible volunteers! Easy to find just outside Perth CBD. I did the Lancaster and Dakota experiences, where a volunteer takes you inside the planes and tells you a lot about the history, incredible guys, and highly recommend. Can take lots of photos, really really fabulous experience. Also did the virtual reality experience which was fantastic. A great museum to take children aswell, so much history. Really really loved our day there. Cafe right next door (same car park) which has a bar, restaurant. That was also good.

Fly with Bomber Command
I only recently learned of the existence of this iconic location and I don't think it gets the publicity it well deserves. What a collection of fascinating restored aircraft and historic artefacts covering everything from "The Great Escape" to noted aviators. We spent over three hours there including the "Lancaster Experience" which was well worth the cost. "Mal" was a font of knowledge and a great guide. The staff couldn't have been nicer and Vanessa on the front desk managed to squeeze us into a tour at short notice - although I would recommend making a booking. Fantastic few hours out for individuals and children were thoroughly enjoying the experience. Left feeling extremely indebted to those heroes who flew in the cramped conditions of those plane sing and so many of whom died to keep us free.

Aircraft served with distinction
This museum has an extensive collection of military and civilian aircraft, most of which saw service with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). It includes classic fighters such as the Spitfire, and the Avro Lancaster, the best night bomber of World War II. Among aircraft which will fascinate enthusiasts are the Vampire and the Canberra bomber. The Tiger Moth survived for many years. While most aircraft served with distinction, the unhappy Wirraway fought in the Pacific theatre with little success.

Memories of World War II
The Aviation Heritage Museum is on the Air Force Memorial Estate. I have been here many times, as my mother and her two brothers served in the Royal Australian Air Force. Anyone with an interest in aviation, particularly from the World War II era, will love this museum. Probably the most interesting exhibit is the Spitfire, a fighter which helped win the Battle of Britain.

Totally amazing day out

Friendly staff and so interesting.
Popped next door afterwards to the RAAF Club and had drinks/food.
What a brilliant family day out.

This is the first time I have been to the museum and its a fantastic place. Spread over two large hangers the displays include full size airplanes IE Lancaster bomber, Catalina, a replica of the Bouncing bomb and lots of other planes. The guide Peter was excellent and very informative. Thoroughly recommended a must see exhibition.

Visit by South Metropolitan TAFE Aircraft Engineering Students
My students enjoyed an very informative visit. For some it was the first time seeing so many aircraft close up.
Both out tour guides, Peter and Paul, shared their wealth of knowledge which was very much appreciated by both myself and the students. they gave the visit an extra dimension - thank you!
This museum should be on everyone's "to - do" list. We will return soon.
