Very small little blue church that is surrounded by a large graveyard. Located along highway 2 in-between Prescott and Brockville.

Spooky Stories.

The church is very tiny and not much to see. However, the graveyard surrounding the little Blue Church has a lot of history and a few spooky stories. Highway two runs right in front of the cemetery so is simple to get too. Be be aware. This area has a high accidentify rate as " The White Lady" frequently likes to stand in the road.
Then there is the mother grave stone tgat stands tall surrounded by her 7 children slates..
Read up on the stories before heading out. Makes for a much more interesting experience weather you belive or not or just enjoy history.

Scenic Graveyard and Church

Many old grave plots of the Loyalists and present-day families. The church is small, but quite charming in this historic area.

Cute little church...worth a 20 min stop and look see.
I'm sure the cemetary would be interesting to wander around but it was raining to hard when we stopped.

Very interesting old head stones, original settlers of the area,

My dad who is almost 90 talked of the Blue Church as a marker spot as they would drive along Highway 2 and it was very interesting to take him there to look at all the old tombstone and family groupings. They are of the earliest settlers to the area

A piece of history

What a wonderful site in which to contemplate the history of the area.This is the earliest cemetery in the area and is the resting place for many UELs.

There is a beautiful monument dedicated to Barbara Heck(1734-1804) who was the founder of North American Methodism. The Blue Church itself was not built until 1845 following a previous fire and it houses a lovely stained glass window by Harry Horwood. It is protected from vandalism by a plexiglass glass covering.

The cemetery has many old stones some dating back to the 1790s and some have curious shapes. I have always been interested in reading old tombstones so this was a great discovery while we were driving through Prescott.

Summer Time Visits

In my youth 40 years ago I would visit with my family close to the Little Blue Church. It is a wonderful old church with a cemetery that tells stories from days gone by and history of the area. It's a quaint setting and doesn't take a lot of time if your journey brings you elsewhere.

Pretty Church and Old Cemetery

This is a very pretty little church along side Highway 2 just outside of Prescott. It doesn't appear to be used any more. It is surrounded by a very old cemetery. Called the Blue Church because it is painted blue. Worth the stop if you are interested in pioneer history.

Blue Church

I live just down the road from the Blue Church. It is a lovely little Church beside an interesting, old graveyard which faces the St. Lawrence River. There is an Eventide service the first Sunday of the each month from July to December. The Church is lit by candles because there isn’t any power, and from October to December it is suggested that you bring a flashlight and dress warmly. The door isn’t locked so one can visit at any time. It is a worthwhile visit.
