Very peaceful and secluded beach at almost southernmost tip of Goa. The controlled development of beach is helping in it's consevation for breeding place for Olive Ridley turtles.

Calm and secluded beach. If lucky, can see turtles too. No sound pollution, no light pollution. Pure nature. Can visit from November to February.

Very peaceful beach.. we were all alone. Good thing is there are no shacks, no loud music, no lights.. extremely serene..

beautiful beach.There is no more visitor. Clean Beach.Less choice food available on beach.Once must be visit this Galgibaga Beach.

This beach is a few Kms from Palolem beach. This is one of the cleanest beach in Goa with no shacks at all and very less crowd. If you want a quiet place with clean water this is a must visit for you.
A lot of people visit here with hopes of seeing turtles. This only happens during a particular time of the year, so please check before coming here to see turtles.

Worth a visit if you are in South Goa, this beach has less or no crowd and clean....sometimes you will feel that you are in a private beach.

Must visit if in South Goa! Interesting coral rocks with different colors. Nature at its best in clean backwaters too. One can experience the calm river and beautiful beach sunset both at one place!

We went here for a sunset and no kidding had one of the best experience 😊😊
The road leading to the beach is small and through some quiant Goan villages and compared to North Goa this place is damn peaceful .
The waters are preeetyyy okay with ocassional waves 🌊 ( so swimming is restricted )
It's also one of the most important turtle nesting spots (another reason why swimming isn't encouraged here)
The south side of the beach converges with the river galgibag and it's a site to behold .
There are only one or two shacks here to eat or grab a beer and few limited accomodations are also available on the beach .
Place is a 20min drive from palolem beach in South goa .

Its a beautiful long beach with only 2 shacks at the end of the beach. Surya's cafe serves very good food but its expensive. Galgibhag river meets the sea here and there's place where you can get into the water and play. Its very safe and pleasant especially in the mornings and evenings. There are no activities here as its a turtle nesting beach. you will see two pits fenced with nest by forest department where turtles have laid eggs.

Galgibaga beach is lovely flat, not at all crowded beach in South Goa. Surrounding shacks have amazing sea food to offer that their are very affordable huts around for the stay. One looking for a get away which is economic and yet very private can definitely stay at this beach.

Hi,
We'll be staying in Varca next month, about an hour away from Galgibaga Beach. Just wondering if we need to take food with us as I believe there are no shacks on the beach, or are there eateries nearby? We'll make a day trip of it!
Any suggestions for other stunning places to visit would be appreciated!!

There are no eateries at Galgibaga beach as it's a turtle nesting site and conserved that way.

I visited Galgibaga beach last year by scooter from Agonda and I think we were just about in the middle of the beach (neither far North or far South) with just 2 shacks, it was so quite no sunbeds etc. Thinking about returning and staying in Galgibaga next year but reviews mentioning roadworks, noise, spoiling this area are now concerning me and I do not know whether to actually visit/stay in Galigbaga anymore. Anybody experienced Galigbaga recently and experienced this? Thank you

Lots of road construction. I saw no place where you could stay. Absolutely deserted. I think it is a waste of time to visit

Galgibaj beach is in canacona area and not in Agonda.
Both Agonda and Galgibaj beach are part of canacona so this listing is not correct.
Galjibag beach should be listed as "top to do things in Canacona"
Please correct it as its listed under Agonda beach.Agonda beach is a indpendent beach 7 km from galjibag,its not part of it.
We would appreciate if Guests are not misguided because of this title listing.

Yes, travellers should note that the name 'Agonda' is sometimes used as a general term as it's a popular beach in south Goa. Galgibaga is even further south and a seperate independant beach, best visited by hired taxi or a rented scooter or motorcycle or bicycle for that matter. It takes a good 30 minutes by road from Agonda at a leisurely pace.

Also, we are staying at the Grand Hyatt in North Goa - how long does it take to get there by car?

No,I never saw any sea shells on that beach. And Galjibaga is situated in South Goa in Canacona which is pretty far from North. It may take about 3-4 hours to get there by car.

At the far end I found some interesting fused together clumps of encrusted oyster shells, but not much else. In all of Goa the only place I found any shells of note was Bamolin Bay. It may be I was there at the wrong time of year for shell colecting however.

Hi. If we hire a rickshaw from Palolem beach can we hire one from Galjibagh to take us back to Palolem?

There will be no rickshaws available there. However there is a bus that comes on this road every hour and you just stop it wherever you are on the road. Stop at Tejas Restaurant to eat, the food is delicious and just so cheap. And even stay on that beach (Talpona). This is the best beach in my opinion. If you are staying a while, rent a motorbike for 200 Rupees a day, it will be cheaper. Enjoy, it won't stay like that forever.

We staying at suyra cafe beach huts eary Dec We love it really quiet and peaceful but is there other places to eat as well as the cafe or may be a grocery shop?

Yes, there are a few other places and homestays around the beach. Yes, there are grocery shops and decent food joints/cafes that you can explore. Again, these are not fancy places with fancy stores or cafes or restaurants...you will surely get the basic utilities.Also, you can always hire a bike and travel around exploring food joints and restaurants and other beaches around South Goa like Palolem, Agonda etc.
