What a day our family had we were celebrating my husbands 60th birthday and it will be something we will cherish forever our grandchildren were absolutely delighted with the experience can highly recommend

I myself really love nature. So I feel very good to see the beautiful forest nearby the city. Feel fresh and happy everytime I walk in the lush green forest. Good for wildlife.

The waterfalls are usually quiet with Monthathan being my favourite. It costs 100 baht per foreigner. Forget any elephant trips until you read PETA assessments.

Amazing temple inside the national park just outside Chaing Mai. Very strict on clothing worn especially for women. Well worth the visit

On its edge, is this interesting unit of Doi Suthep National Park. I think it makes for a great little stop especially if you're visiting nearby Wat Umong. According to its signs, it's an education center so I imagine people come here (maybe school trips) to get educated. There are quite a few trails that I roamed for about an hour. I saw lots of wildlife, particularly buffalo (carabao?) and deer. Also there are some old Buddhist structures probably related to Wat Umong that I thought to be quite interesting. I think kids would like coming here to get close to the animals. Down the road from Wat Umong, there is a big sign with it's name near the awesome No. 39 Cafe where you turn to get here.

The National Park is located only 5km far from Chiang Mai city centre. It is very easy to go and it's one of the best place to enjoy outdoor. Don't loose too much time to visit the temple Wat Doi Suthep that is a bit overcrowded and of a small interest compared to temples in Bangkok.
The area is great for trekking, trail running and mountain biking. The jungle is deep and wild, the mountains are very high with great views, its possible to stop and eat at different small Hmong villages located at the foothill of the summit. It's definitely one of the best and most beautiful place in Thailand for outdoor activities.
First I went there by myself but it was complicated to go deep in the jungle and find long trekking routes because nothing is marked. I tried a couple of times then I decided to contact Thailand Mountain Trail. A friend told me about them because they created many hiking routes in the north so they can go organise real trekking trips high and far.
We went trekking from Chiang Mai until the highest summit at 1700m high. It was 6-7 hours trekking with an amazing jungle and a stunning view on the valleys at the top. Just amazing. I went back there 2 more times by myself and always enjoyed it.

タクシーで行きました。ゲートで外国人価格の100バーツ/人支払いました。
駐車場はMae Sa滝の3段目近くでした。そこから30分かけてゆっくりと6段目までを往復しました。快適でした。お勧めのウォーキングコースです。

Excellent place to stop off at when you're in Chiang Mai, lovely views over the city, long walk up the steps to the the temple but we'll worth it 😁😁

Les principales attractions du parc sont le Wat Doi Suthep ( temple de la montagne doree) qui est construit près du sommet de Doi Suthep, quelques cascades, des points de vue, des grottes et la nature.
Le parc est idéal pour la randonnée à travers de nombreux sentiers ainsi que pour le vélo et le camping.
Il y a près de 2000 espèces de fougères et de plantes à fleurs, près de 300 espèces d'oiseaux et d'espèces de mammifères.
le climat est frais et agréable toute l'année

Nice viewpoint of Chiang Mai and old city. Visited just before sunset in hopes to catch a beautiful sunset but the viewpoints faces the opposite direction. Nonetheless, worth the little trip up to the park. There is a foreigner entrance fee (40 baht) but they did not check the tickets.

I suppose it depends how far along you are, there are some steep areas but it’s pretty safe.

Hola!! Queremos ir a visitar esta zona estando en Chiang Mai... Es mejor contratar una excursion que nos lleve a tiro hecho, incluyendo templo, cataratas, etc? O mejor ir por libre¿?

Hola, nosotros contratamos en Chiang Mai mismo un taxi que nos subió hasta la zona desde donde se sube al templo, y después nos acerco también a la zona de las cataratas. Vimos todo por nuestra cuenta, y bien.

My boyfriend and I are staying in the Old City area and are interested in camping at the campgrounds. I am wondering the best way to get from the temple (to where I am assuming it would be easier to take a sonthaew or something similar) to the campground /without/ renting a motorbike. I am also wondering at how we would get back to Chiang Mai from the campground. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Do you mean a motorbike? It is pretty far away from Chiang Mai and very high up a mountain! You can catch a taxi (cheap) or uber in Chiang Mai up to the park!

They are getting very strict in the Chiang Mai area. I always rent a motorbike there and have never had any problems. Last month I got stopped 4 times. My UK license covers me but the police insisted I had an international licence. They fined me 500 baht but the paper covered me for 3 days. Best to be safe and get the international license. Apparently you apply in your own country and they are very cheap

Yes you can it depends where you stay. Its easy around 4 miles fro the city.

It's better to take the red songthew as the steep and slope is no joke... bargain price if you can... it will take you to every place there is to see in doi suthep and will give ample time to see around too... if you can list down places you want to visit then it will be more convenient... all the best 😊
