LeAuroville Resort is couple of kms aways from the Yelagrir Main Road just before you reach the Boat house . The place is a homestay combined resort. Don't get carried away by the "resort "title & glossy website . Very ordinary ambience. The time that we went in July 2009 they were still doing up the lawns and buildings getting ready to be plastered. Its an Ok place to stay but the food is prohibitvely expensive. Imagine this: Rs.200 for a Veg buffet (roti,dhal,rice,fried rice,sambhar,rasam,curd,salad) and Rs.250 for a non veg and the only difference in 1 extra chicken curry with pieces cut so small that you will drown searching for them. Rs.100 for starters that they serve around 7:00 PM isn the evening.( 1 veg soup, peanut masala, chicken fry and chillichicken). Rs.10 for the smallest paper cup ot tea, if you happen to ask them extra from the normal service to morning and evening tea. The alternative is to stay there as the place is ok compared to other places and for food go down to the Main road near the Nature Park and Boat house entrance. There were a couple of places to eat. Hotel Surabhi was one such place that was neat and prompt in their service. Prices were resonable. Breakfast for 6 cost us Rs.350.…
