The property has been open for about 6 months and still have a few small teething issues not nothing major. The standout is the Manager of the property. I think he must work 24/7 because he's always accessible and responsive. Our stay was very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble - the manager booked taxis, dinner reservations and a reservation at the spa (his recommendations were spot on!). Honestly, without the Manager the property would not be the same or hold the same appeal. Manager speaks very good English however staff do not and it can be a struggle. When the Manager is not around things do tend to slip - breakfast is included in the room rate but certainly nothing to rave about - the hot food was actually cold each day and we reminded staff that the warming candles had gone out - they were not checking these things themselves, coffee was not hot either but they were accommodating to heat things up (purely because I don't like cold food).…

I booked this hotel only due to the reviews the GM received. My thinking was that if he is that good, then he must also have a great team. All true. The building g is brand new. We were in the part of Vietnam for my partners birthday. The GM arranged a special introduction to our room with an upgrade first of. Then rose petals on the bed spelling out happy birthday, red and white balloons everywhere and then later on one of the most delicious cakes we have ever had. We shared with the staff by the way. Anything we needed, the GM arranged. We had a private car collect from the Hanoi airport and drive the 2.5 hours to Ha Long. We paid for that. He also arranged a private car back to Hanoi for us. Once more we paid but the price was good. On our way to Ha Long our cruise was cancelled. No reason provided. Last minute the GM had us booked on another. It was not with all thw frills I had paid for on the cancelled cruise, but it was still a good cruise with Calypso 2. The breakfast was good. There wasn't a night time dinner but just down was a nice place and a bit further along were street restaurants selling fresh seafood. We had great meals there. It is a shame that more people do not choose to stay in Ha Long. To the GM Trong and his staff, thankypu for all you did. …

The hotel room itself is lovely, clean, spacious and felt luxurious. We went for our anniversary and they put nice balloons in our room for the occasion which was nice. However, the location is strange in an empty part of town which felt like a ghost town with lots of construction work, one morning we woke up at 8am to the LOUDEST drilling which went on for an hour or so our ears were ringing. They did refund us the nights stay for this which was good. The other issue is the rooftop pool needs cleaning, the pool area floor is covered in black dust and dirt which made our feet filthy - this did not feel luxurious. The spa facilities they have (sauna, steam and jacuzzi) cost extra which isn’t advertised and isn’t really worth the money. The jacuzzi isn’t hot which was disappointing and the steam and sauna were nice but not worth the extra money. Breakfast wasn’t what you would expect from a 4 star hotel, strange cold chips and cold oily eggs. Very average - we had better breakfasts at hostels. …

Fantastiskt trevlig personal! Rummen var fina och rena! Frukosten var anpassad till alla nationaliteter! Och en trevlig jacuzzi och bastu och en trevlig tak pool med bra utsikt. Här saknar man inget nära till allt annars hjälper dem till med taxi och vad som behövs! Rekommenderar även att boka båtresan till gruvorna i ha long med mat på båten som var toppen!

We had an incredible stay at Then Yen Residences Halong, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel. The hotel itself is clean, air conditioned, and beautiful. Our suite was spacious and comfortable. The pool has a nice view of the ocean and city. The location was perfect because we could walk everywhere we wanted to go while still feeling slightly removed from the activity. The employees were wonderful - very engaged, eager to help us, and made our stay incredibly enjoyable. I absolutely recommend staying at the Yen Residences!
