from day 1 when we made the reservation, the reservation staff has been very helpful in arranging our stay since we booked the whole resort (12 cabanas). and then the manager went out of his way to help us out in making our stay a memorable one. we went in a 45 seater he guided us on his bike to reach the hotel in the best route possible. cabanas were spacious and decent clean. pool was large and kids had the best time. Manger was generous enough to change the menus according to our liking. staff was friendly and provided all we needed. staff stay only until 10.30 and they clean the place up before leaving, so if you are staying after that, you need to switch off lights in the dining area and leave.
food was very tasty and you would always go for a 2nd serving or even a 3rd.
there are mosquitos but manager warned us before hand and need to take mosquito repellent if you are staying outside at night and always keep the doors shut in cabanas so its mosquito free. we didn’t have time to watch tv since we were having too much fun outside.
all in all, it was a good stay and would like to thank the management and the staff for their hospitality and keep up the good work.

Blue waves Kite surfing was a rather disappointing place for me to stay. I regret making the reservation because the place was utterly awful. Since there were flies all over the place and the cleanliness was so poor, I was unable to enjoy my vacation or feel at ease. The management was incredibly careless and unprofessional, which made the situation worse. They improperly calculated the fee in addition to ignoring the sanitary concerns. I had to invest more time and effort in fixing it because it was full of mistakes. What should have been a leisurely vacation turned into a stressful nightmare due to the startling level of incompetence. At all costs, I strongly advise staying away from this place. Save yourself the aggravation and find another place with the bare minimum of professionalism, cleanliness,

"Extremely Disappointing Stay and Unprofessional Resort Manager" I deeply regret choosing this hotel for our stay on 13th Night January 2025. Our experience was highly disappointing and certainly not worth the LKR 90,250 (79,000+11,250) we paid for three rooms. No triple cabanas available ( they provided double basis cabana with extra bed, but sadly not space for extra bed of that cabana) making it uncomfortable for a family stay. The resort manager’s behavior was shockingly rude and unprofessional, which made the entire experience even worse. You can clearly see his unprofessionalism by reading how he responds to guest reviews, often shifting blame rather than addressing genuine concerns with respect. The only thing this resort seemed to handle efficiently was counting the minutes past checkout time and charging excessively for it. They were extremely focused on enforcing late checkout fees, charging LKR 2,500 even if one minute late after 11:00 AM. We ended up paying LKR 11,250, which felt completely unreasonable and unfair compared to standard practices elsewhere. After our stay, I checked TripAdvisor and noticed there were 5 reviews, out of which 4 were negative. I truly regret not reviewing them before making my reservation. There was nothing that justified the high price or poor service we experienced. I would not recommend this place to anyone seeking a professional and pleasant hotel experience.

Avoid at all costs! This hotel was a complete rip-off with extremely high prices. The rooms were filthy, and the bathrooms were infested with flies. The staff, especially at the reception, were incredibly rude and seemed completely untrained in basic customer service. There were no basic amenities like Wi-Fi or TV, and the blankets were never changed. I would strongly advise anyone to look elsewhere for a more comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We recently stayed here (3 days and 2 nights) to celebrate our mother’s birthday and to visit the beautiful St Anne’s shrine in Talawila.
Booking com describes the hotel as a 5-star hotel. However, we have our doubts. The hotel has no website (which was the case for a considerable time) and according to the Management, they are in the process of re-designing their website. The mobile phone number given in booking doc.com (0774566930) was not working or no one was answering. Therefore, we had no way of contacting the hotel, while we were on our way to the hotel (it was a real worry for us as we thought we are simply taking a chance after making an advance payment of 60% for a day’s package). Luckily through another mobile number, they reverted back to me (after seeing my whatsup message sent to the afore-mentioned no).
Rooms and bathrooms: Tastefully /elegantly designed and comfortable with open air bathrooms. There is uninterrupted WIFI too. However, the ac had an issue on Day 1 (which was not working for nearly 30-45 min). However, they promptly rectified it.
Security and Car park: No security and private car park, which is a concern. Visitors have to park their vehicles at their own risk outside the hotel. According to the Management, there are no thefts or other threats in the area. However, with time due to further developments in tourism, etc., this can become a concern here (as in Negombo and the South).
Cleanliness of the Hotel including the Pool: OK
Staff: Staff is generally friendly and they are obliging trying to please the visitors/guests as much as possible (especially Achini Rajakaruna). But we found that there was not enough staff. The available staff (about 5-6 full time fellows) worked for almost 24 hours per day (especially Achini who worked there like the Resident Manager, receptionist, etc).
Food: This was lousy. There were no buffets (which was OK for us), but the set menus available for FB packages or what was available in the menu cards were very limited. Except for the type of rice dishes served, the side dishes included with the rice were very much the same (3 pieces of prawns and a Crab). Basically, what was available for lunch was also served for the dinner (no much variety). This Kalpitiya/Puttalam area is well known for sea food and lagoon prawns and crabs too (which were not available here). There was another group of Sri Lankans and we just overheard them saying that they came to Kalpitiya to have crabs, but they are unavailable. Western breakfast served on Day 2 was disappointing. There was no bar.
Other Activities: There weren’t any facilities for whale watching, boat riding.
Overall, we can only give a rating of 50%. However, I feel there is room for improvement.
