Just back from here spent fri sat and sun 4 of us 2 couples , we give this 9 out of 10 the bar staff were so friendly big shout out to Michelle and Connor thanks for your hospitality Connor makes the best fry’s going, and Barry the security Guy we met at the Gareth brooks tribute night, had the best time we will be back loved it Maggie Mo George and Linda x

We had our wedding here in August 2021. From the day and hour we booked, the staff, especially Geraldine could not do enough for us. They kept in touch and asked exactly what we wanted. Nothing was too big or too difficult, sheils agreed to all our requests and made it happen. From start to finish our day was exactly what we wanted, the staff were so attentive and friendly, the head chef Connor & crew completely blew us away with his food (everyone raved about every dish) simply beautiful food. Wedding or not the food is too die for! It's lashed from start to finish on our wedding day and the staff were so accomadating and made sure this made no impact on our day! The atmosphere was relaxed, which was our main 'want' for our day, and we couldn't help but make a run for it to the bridge for some photographs in the beautiful surroundings. We could not recommend Basil Sheils enough if you are looking a wedding venue or even just to go for dinner or a night out. We had the best day, & Sheils made everything so easy and stress free. Table for two booked early arrived no idea were restaurant was located. Very quaint place plenty of staff Menu very sparse Steak 10oz fillet £29.95 Tomato chicken chorizo pasta two small pieces of garlic bread tasteless one piece of chorizo really poor. Steak arrived with my fries, two small baby boiled potatoes no mushrooms tomato garnish salad coleslaw nothing else on plate small pot of watery sauce. And the smallest 5oz steak definitely not 10oz. Desert was baileys cheesecake without the Baileys and Sugar packed floppy pavalova really soggy. Total £67 eaten in too many really good hidden gems this is unfortunately not one we will rush back to.

Could not recommend this place anymore, it has great food and drinks for all the family, and also has plenty of space for social distancing. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, we will all be back again soon.

Came here last Saturday 3rd Oct for my grandsons 1st Communion, there were 13 of us inc 4 children. From start to finish the staff could not have been more friendly. the food was fantastic, we all choose differently from the menu and we were not disappointed, everyone said the food was delicious and to a very high standard, I personally chose the Turkey and Ham unreal, there was Roast Beef, stirfrys, Goujons, curry and Sirloin Steaks, starters of soup and garlic mushrooms. The place is very child friendly. I will definitely be back
