This hotel is centrally located. It was clean and comfortable. I have already booked for a future trip. There is no staff on site so you do have to be fairly independent, though you can call if you need anything.

Trapped in the elevator. The emergency phone did not work.

We have stayed at the hotel twice. The first time everything was fine. The second time was a disaster. It was January 2021. We arrived and the room was messy. We rang up and were given a different room. All was forgiven. Then we found out there was no Wifi not great with little kids with disabilities and work to do but we soldiered on. On our last day there I got into the elevator which was now working with our luggage. I started going down then the elevator stopped. the lights went out and that was it. I tried to call out but the phone in the elevator did not work and I didn't have a phone. After a few minutes the lights worked again but the elevator wouldn't move and the phone wouldn't work. Since I didn't have my mobile with me, we were the only guests and the hotel isn't staffed I had the pleasure of yelling knowing no one was coming. I spent about 20 minutes trapped before the elevator started working again after a precise panicked kick. When I contacted the manager he offered some free coffees and cakes. If the price is low enough stay there but stay away from the elevator at all costs.…

Not room 10 please

Unfortunately room 10 is at the back of and outside the main area of the hotel proper. The rain in the previous week had obviously made its way inside and the carpet was damp underfoot. The rest of the rooms looked great, room 10 is a bit of a dud! Feeling pretty let down by the whole experience.

Great location, disappointing room

Small room, not one of the rooms in any of the photos on the website so far as I can see. If you book here and are allocated room 2, don’t expect much. No luggage rack so your bag will be comfortable on the floor. No chair/table to eat or work from. No hot water for a shower. No working lift which was not disclosed when booking so don’t bring heavy luggage. Cupboard for hanging clothes fairly inaccessible, one door didn’t have room to open and i needed to be on the bed to be in front of the door that could open. Carpark located at the rear of the property however the property itself not accessible from the rear and you need to walk around the block. (Might be good to disclose this to guests so they can unload in the main street at the entrance) The location is ideal but the property has missed the mark. …

Very modern rooms

I stayed at The Manhattan on a solo road trip, although a bit strange but having reception or staff, once I worked out how to access my room, I found the room very clean & modern. Great air conditioning as well & it was a 40 degree day. Bathroom was a bit strange, I had to sit on the toilet sideways as the way cut in front at a diagonal & the light kept turning off while I was in the shower (motion sensor). Otherwise a great stay, will stay again if ever back that way.
