I am taken aback by the lack of critical feedback regarding the management of this establishment. The manager is effectively holding my funds hostage, and I believe I am not the first victim of such practices.
I cannot recommend staying at this hotel. The manager's uncooperative attitude adds unnecessary stress and inconvenience to what should be a pleasant stay.
This marks the second instance where I have wasted valuable time over an issue that should have been resolved with ease.
This is my experience, and I hope it will assist you in making an informed decision.
I booked this hotel through Booking.com and am now requesting an early checkout and a refund for the unused days of my stay. Despite presenting a reasonable and mutually beneficial proposal, my requests have been summarily rejected without any discussion. The management is entirely unwilling to consider any aspect of my request, even though I proposed waiting until the room was rebooked at a higher rate to avoid any financial loss for them.
The alternative arrangement offered by the hotel is unreasonable and disregards customer interests entirely. They suggested marking my reservation as a no-show to potentially refund a small portion of the commission paid to Booking.com, which is far from a fair solution.
This inflexibility and lack of a customer-centric approach make it extremely difficult for guests to resolve any issues. I feel as though I am speaking to a wall whenever I propose something cordially.
The first issue I faced with the manager was when I requested the hotel to wait a bit for the payment, as I was in the process of opening a local bank account since I am staying in Hanoi for two years. Initially, the staff agreed, but one day, without notice, I was abruptly asked to pay immediately as if I were a thief. The manager even intrusively commented that since I had money, I must pay now, and proceeded to ask me how much cash I had on me (does he look into my things when i am outside to make such allegations ?…). This was despite the hotel already having a copy of my passport, and my belongings (massive boxes) had just arrived from France. Feeling insulted, I immediately paid for the three months I had booked, incurring extra bank fees I had hoped to avoid. The correct approach would have been to give me at least two days' notice that they could no longer wait for payment. Instead, I was treated like an outlaw and pressured to pay on the spot. I urge future guests to pay incrementally to avoid such abuses.
While the staff at the hotel are polite and accommodating, their efforts are overshadowed by the manager’s poor business ethics. Consequently, I no longer feel secure in this establishment.
Additionally, my room has several maintenance issues: a hole in the entrance door that lets light through, a broken curtain, a nearly detached kitchen tap, an unsecured balcony door (no lock), a precarious showerhead, heavily stained curtains… —all for €1,000 a month, while my friend next door pays €500 for better accommodations. The attractive pictures are deceiving; everything is flimsy and falling apart.
Furthermore, the legitimacy and safety of this organization are questionable, given the multiple names it operates under: "Luxe Paradise Residence" on Booking.com, "Luxe Paradise Suites Hotel" on Google, "Paradise Home" on the entrance sign, "Blissington" on lobby walls and paperwork, and "Paradise Steak Restaurant" on my bill with a different address stated on the bill.
This place is managed by someone who seems more interested in exploiting guests than providing a humane service. If you wish to avoid unpleasant surprises, explore other options.
I hope this review helps some of you avoid the low standards of this establishment.
Best regards,
Pauline
