Through the Saigon cooking school we went on a 4 hour food tour by scooter.
The pictures tell all👍
Bao and Ly were amazing guides.
They took us to a traditional street market , (no tourist),
We walk a few blocks to see veggies, fish , coconut, spices etc. ,
We the set down to have our first course, savory pancake and savory tapioca squares fried with egg and spring onion.
Then to a flower market.
From there to a lady selling an amazing rice noodle salat in front of the university .
Stopped to see a temple and on to have Pho.
All the places were very clean .
Bao was very knowledgable and would highly recommend him to be your tourguide .
Saigon traffic is an experience when on the back of a scooter.
A must do when visiting.

I need to mention that I stayed in the Cantavil in Binh Thanh which is visibly seen by anyone entering the Van Thanh Park. Other than the inconvenience of having no mini marts and shops downstairs, the apartment itself is lavish and it definitely is a serviced apartment at its best.
They provide everything from washing machine, high quality cooking utensils, huge fridge, intelligent use of the space, automated system of toilet bowl, nice marble design, and even chopping board sanitizer, who would think of that in a serviced apartment.
It is superb, everything is within walking distance, once you walk out, you can take a stroll in the park behind, walk around the streets and grab some local streetside food, goes to local saloon for a hair cut or massage, and there is a fast food chain around, a lot of convenience staying here. I am so relieved that I have stayed here for four years before leaving to another country, I have not regretted it at all.

I would start with the good points of this apartment:
-It is very spacious; 75m2; 2 bedrooms complete with beddings
-This rental rates includes your first drum of drinking water free after that you would have to pay for it yourself, which wasn't expensive.
-Shuttle Service into town (at a small cost and it takes about 10 minutes) and Lotte Mart; it is a large shopping centre (again, at a small cost and it takes an hour)
-Staff is very helpful; they would book a taxi for you, they would organize your drinking water for you, and if anything in the apartment that is not working you could call them to get it fix. Our DVD player wasn't working and they send the maintenance guys in to fix it in no time. The staff would also help you to order a home delivery Pizza (The Pizza itself wasn’t good though),
-Internet service is included in the rates (It is quite fast)
-The rates in US$65 Nett (For me, it is better that a hotel in terms of size and facilities)
-Accommodation facilities includes: an onsite Mini Mart, which is stocked with all Korean food, a large supermarket (Metro), which is right next to the apartment but you would need a membership to get in, however, you could borrow it from one of the staffs, a Korean Restaurant, a gym ( a chargeable service ), a library (free service) , an indoor playground ( Free entrance, which is suitable for tots but not so clean though), a hair dressing salon which also offers foot massage (I liked it) , a travel agency, an adult and infant/toddler swimming pools complete with poolside slide for kids and pool side wooden furniture, taxi service readily available and laundry service.
-The facilities in the apartment itself offers the following: washing machine, fridge freezer (good fridge freezer), no iron and ironing board but the Housekeeping would be able to provide you with one, mosquitoes trap, cleaning service, DVD player, TV, linens, pillows, duvet covers, pots and pans, mugs, plates and bowls, chopsticks and oriental spoons (no forks, knifes and spoons but you can get these sorted with the Housekeeping who would be happy to help you).
- In the bathroom; there is the bathtub and the shower is above the bathtub (no shower curtains though, so expect a wet floor if you do take a shower instead of a bath)
-In the bedrooms are fitted wardrobes (no safe)
- There are two balconies but no furniture on the balconies
-In the vicinity (you would need to take a short taxi ride though), there are restaurants and bars. There is a classy French Restaurant called Jardin Delice that has its own swimming pool, a small but well stocked supermarket called An Phu supermarket; it is very well stocked with Western ingredients, there is a café called Mekong Merchant where we went for our breakfast (I recommend this café for family with young kids as it offers a playroom for kids while you have a peaceful meal), The Deck, which is overlooking the Saigon River but it is too fancy for my liking. There are also many local restaurants, in particular, a seafood restaurant that we went to (sorry, I have forgotten the name as it is in Vietnamese) that serves live seafood cooked to your own liking, and it is really cheap.
Cons:
-Ugly looking bedding and curtains,
-This place is not child proof; you need to keep an eye on your offspring as there are two balconies, and on the taps there is no temperature control stopper, there is also no non-slip matt in the bathtub,
- There is Cable TV but the program is limited; there were only one or two English movie channels; I can’t really remember, sports channel(s), but more Chinese channels
-DVD player is regional based so remember to bring DVDs that is suitable for that region.
-No mini Welcome pack to get you started on your first night of arrival but you could get the basic from the Korean Supermarket downstairs, which stay open quite late,
-No kettle, however, you could get one in the Metro supermarket which is right next door,
-This apartment is located in district 2; out of town area, you would need to take a taxi or book its shuttle service into town,
-You need to book in advance to reserve a seat on the shuttle bus,
-Communication is not always clear,
-Hard pillows
-Because of its location and we came into the City at peak hour the taxi ride cost us 250,000VND but it only cost us 150,000VND on our way back,
-We took a lot of taxi rides, luckily, they aren’t expensive.
