Brother Island is a magical experience and the perfect place for our wedding elopement! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. My heart is so full when I think about our stay on Brother Island. Part of me wants to keep it a well known secret, but if you are here and on the fence, just go! You won't regret it :)

"Before I begin, I'd like to share my honest and genuine experiences from the beginning to the end of our stay on the island. I believe that it's important for everyone to pay attention to these comments. I don't take my reviews for granted because I usually don't publish them until after I've had a specific experience. I urge everyone to think twice before visiting the island, as it may ruin your vacation. I'm not writing this review to discourage you from visiting the island, but after reading these reviews, you can decide whether or not to visit. I promise to keep my review as brief as possible." At First, I was attracted by the beauty of Brother Island after seeing a blogger spend their incarceration due to Covid-19. After all of the upheaval, I promised myself that when the time came, I would visit the island. Fast forward. Last December 2022, my partner and I discussed visiting the Philippines and decided to go to Palawan. I was really eager to bring up Brother Island during our talk, and I worked hard to persuade my companion. And, luckily, I won and chose to visit the island. This vacation is to spend quality time with my siblings. The only option to contact management is through Messenger or Facebook, so I texted the island's management via Messenger and received a response from Alfred. We discuss the process and price of renting the island for eight days with eleven individuals. Following our chat, everything became history in a very disappointing manner. After a thorough analysis and assessment of the costs of bringing my family member, I made a decision and carried out the plan without hesitation. I wonder when it is suitable to make the move to spend quality time with my family on this magnificent property. I decided to invite all of my siblings and family members to this stunning island. I opted to make a down payment to secure the home specifically for us. I wired 50% of the total cost for an 11-person stay on the island between December 2023 and January 2024. After they received my cash after a few weeks, I did not hear back from management when I inquired, so I assumed they were extremely busy. After a few weeks, I attempted to send another text message but was unsuccessful. To keep this review even shorter, the NO response idea ended when I decided to make the remaining 50% balance payment in October or November of 2023. During that time, I kept contacting them to inquire about the island, and there were times when I felt the management was not paying attention to me because my name did not sound foreign or European in that sense, or a white name. My name is very Asian, distinctly Filipino. Because, as you can see, the vast majority of those in the review area are foreigners. It just so happens that someone with a Filipino name can afford to pay that much for a family reunion on my preferred private island. This is extremely disappointing and embarrassing for my family members. I endured an unimaginable level of stress throughout the year, constantly worried that I might fall prey to a financial scam, something that had never happened to me before. Instead of staying on the island the entire time, half of my family chose to leave and spend the remainder of their vacation in El Nido town proper. So, rather than the entire family, only half of my family celebrates New Year's together. My main goal and purpose for our island vacation is to spend quality time together. I was furious when the situation worsened. I cannot believe all of my hard work and effort in planning for the entire year has gone to waste. I appreciate that one of the owners, I believe, is Alfred's mother. After we had a serious talk about my entire experience. She was deeply sorry for what I had been through, and she went above and beyond to compensate for the poor management. Thank you for doing so, but my feelings of unease, dissatisfaction, and shame for my family remain. "I apologize for the length of this review, but I would like to emphasize that one should not judge a book by its cover. It is important to delve deep into its contents to truly understand its value. My review only scratches the surface of the larger issue at hand. The lack of specificity regarding the day of pick-up is indicative of a broader problem - a lack of attention to event specifics and irresponsible and sloppy management during the event." I want to remind you that the experience I had on the island was not great, but it is not a reason to avoid visiting it. Just be aware that you may face similar issues. Though the island is magical, the management can be compared to the villain in magical films. I wish you the best on your visit, and I hope you enjoy your time there. A deep sigh of relief was taken from the day we left the island until I boarded my aircraft back to Manila. It is a shame, because the island is breathtaking.

Mate, let me tell ya about this ripper small private island! It's an absolute beauty, with sandy shores. The vibes are as chilled as a cold brew, and the service is top-notch. From sunup to sundown, you're in a fair dinkum slice of paradise!

Leider sehr enttäuschend. Wir hatten vor unserer Anreise mit Alfred, dem Besitzer des Islands vereinbart, wann wir am Port von El Nido ankommen werden. Am Port angekommen, warteten wir vergebens darauf abgeholt zu werden. Auf Nachfrage wurde uns mitgeteilt der Fahrer sei unterwegs. Insgesamt warteten wir 2h! am Port und der Fahrer teilte uns mit, dass Alfred ihm einen anderen Tag mitgeteilt habe.
Als wir auf Brother Island dann endlich ankamen war es schon Mittag. Dann der nächste Schock! Wir buchten das Island für uns privat und zahlten entsprechend diese Leistung jedoch waren 8! weitere Personen dort. Da Alfred selbst nicht da war fragten wir die Mutter von Alfred warum andere Leute auf dem Island sind und sie meldete uns zurück, dass es eine Doppelbuchung gab und sie fragte, ob ihr Sohn das nicht rückgemeldet habe?! Natürlich hatte er dies nicht! Dementsprechend war unsere Laune. Die Privatsphäre, die wir uns von dem Urlaub erhofft hatten gab es nicht, da die Großfamilie bis einen Tag vor unserer Abreise anwesend war. Uns wurde rückgemeldet, dass Alfred sich mit uns in Verbindung setzen würde, um es wieder gut zu machen. Nach unserem Urlaub haben wir ihm mehrfach Nachrichten geschrieben, auf die keine Antwort zurück kam. Daher rief ich ihn an. Da er nicht wusste wie er uns angemessen entgegenkommen kann, sind wir so verblieben, dass er sich bis zum Wochenende Gedanken machen soll und auf uns zurück kommen soll. Vergebens! Alfred ignorierte Anrufe und Nachrichten bis heute! Insgesamt haben mir 10 Nachrichten geschrieben und mehrfach angerufen. Ein wirkliches Armutszeugnis so mit seinen Gästen umzugehen.

We stayed at Brother island with our families. We had the most amazing and relaxing holiday! The water is perfect for swimming and the surrounding area provides a great spot for snorkeling. Lots of hammocks and relaxation spots around the island. The snorkeling tour and massages we had were amazing. The food, freshly cooked every day, was absolutely delicious and the staff was super friendly. We would definitely recommend this place and hope we will be able to go back soon!
Also, if you have a special event, you can get Alee and the island’s staff to organize it for you!
