The hotel is part of an integrated resort featuring facilities such as golf, casino and several restaurants. The beach is stunning and there are many pools across the resort. The staff and service are all excellent and HoiAn town is only a 10 min drive away. Perfect!
The staff—from the wait staff in the restaurant to the housekeepers—truly were exceptional. They were very attentive to small details and did their best to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Unfortunately, that’s the best I can say about this hotel. The rooms were on par with a western, business-class hotel, but the facilities, in general, were far from anything resembling a 5-star resort. In fact, the facilities were not even complete, begging one to question why the hotel was open to guests in the first place. Paint and cement splatters covered the glass along the balconies and the restaurant windows, and one pane of glass in the lobby area was broken. Plywood covered gaping holes in the cement walkways around the pool area, and bars (I assume that is what they were supposed to be) in the pool area were covered in plywood. Smokers were allowed to overrun the entire patio around the restaurant, filling it with smoke, covering the upholstery with ashes, and making it completely unusable by non-smokers. Though the hotel shares a beach with another hotel owned by the same company, we were informed by security that we were not allowed access to the beach, as access would require us to use the walkways of the other hotel. While the beach-view rooms do offer a view of the distant beach (that you are not allowed to access), you will find your view consumed mostly by an enormous, old, concrete building foundation that was magically converted using some yellow and white paint into a “helipad” late one night during our stay. (I could not make this up if I tried.) The food was on par with what you would expect from a penitentiary. With the exception of the cold salads and the fresh bread which were quite good, the food looked, tasted, and smelled like a complete disaster. Any Vietnamese restaurant that cannot even cook rice properly should not be serving food commercially. The restaurant lacks any creativity whatsoever, as the buffet repeated itself on a two-day rotation. On good days, leftovers from previous meals were “dressed up” and served as a “different” dish. On bad days, they were simply reheated. If you are thinking you just will eat outside of the hotel, forget it, as there is absolutely nothing in the area around the hotel. I wasted a week of my life in this hotel and cannot leave soon enough. If you are considering this hotel, I recommend you consider another real resort in the area or simply save yourself a lot of money by choosing a 2-star or 3-star hotel.…
