Berrillo is in a class of its own. Amazing location with views over the Canterbury plains with Mount Cook in the back ground.The accommodation provided by Owen and Liz was the best of our trip. They are charming easy going hosts. Drinks before dinner and an super breakfast round off an excellent package .

Berrillo B & B - We're pretty sure you will like it, we did.

During our recent self-drive holiday in New Zealand’s South Island we had the delightful experience of staying at Berrillo Bed and Breakfast in Timaru. We had visited their website before leaving Australia, liked what we saw, checked out the accommodation rates and made a booking. We had no trouble finding Berrillo B & B as they have a very clear map on their website. Owners Liz and Owen Berrill greeted us with warm smiles upon arrival and gave us a quick tour. Their modern country home is quite large with three bedrooms for guests, two of which can be booked as connecting if required. Before unpacking we had a quick peek outside and discovered well-kept gardens, freshly mown spacious lawns and a nice surprise - their very own Olive Tree Grove. Because Berrillo B & B has a slightly elevated location the views seem to go on forever. Our room was a nice size with Queen Bed, TV, room heater, air conditioning, electric blanket, garden views and stylish decorative bits and pieces everywhere - creating a warm homely feel and with the added convenience of having its own private entry. The adjoining modern en-suite bathroom was well appointed with everything we seem to expect these days, was a generous size with a nice surprise – heated towel rails with good size fluffy towels. Just down the hall from our room was the guest lounge. Lots of comfy lounges, flat screen TV, coffee and tea making facility, bar fridge, desk and floor to ceiling library. Good selection of books - you could even catch-up on your favourite Byron prose. Another nice touch was that a complimentary glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres were served. We found Liz and Owen to be very welcoming hosts, well-travelled with lots of stories, very friendly and easy to chat to. If you decide to stay a night or two at Berillo B & B we’re pretty sure you will love it – we did.…
