Despite the fact that in some areas it get noisy at night, Victoria hotel is the most affordable hotel in Pretoria with big nice rooms. The have double and single suit rooms and its closer to all kind of transport including Gautrain which will take to the Airport in like 20 minutes or less.

central location next to the train and bus station and strange mix of old and new. old wooden front part makes a nice impression of elegant hotel. victoria hotel offers different rooms foe every budjet. the best, new and self contained rooms cost around 35 usd and that is a good price for what you get.rooms are clean and bright. rooms in an old part are without batrooms and cost less than 25 usd. try funny old style bar behind reception. it is popular with locals.

The Victoria is the faded example of a time gone by, as it was the first hotel in Pretoria, built around 1880 for the railway travellers of that time.All the rooms, recently upgraded a bit, are named after safari rest camps etc. Very limited but secure parking, we use it for an overnight to acclimatise after longhaul flight and pre departure sometimes, Staff are young and friendly, and it is a bit different from the usual unitarian hotels. For 350-450 rand, bed only , its good value, but it is near the station and can be a bit noisy. Lovely verandah rooms at front and back, just watch the world go by.Secure locked rooms. There is a bar and locals can play pool in the large room , watching sports on tv. Not everybody's cup of tea but we are used to its quirks.

De passage à Pretoria, j'ai dormi à l'hôtel Victoria, malgré les commentaires très négatifs du Lonely Planet. Cet hôtel a tout pour plaire: décoration soignée très rétro, lit ultra-confortable, tv et même salle de bains avec baignoire pour 375 Rands! Le prix des chambres va de 300 Rands (avec sdb partagée) à 375 Rds avec la sdb à l'intérieur. Idéalement situé près de la gare de train et de la gare routière (2 minutes à pied), cet hôtel a tout pour plaire. J'ai rarement payé ce prix pour un tel confort en Afrique du Sud!
