I have been staying at the Coronet Motel for a few weeks now. It’s a great place, clean, safe and warm. The front desk staff is very nice and also there when needed. I would definitely recommend staying at this place for any reason. Prices are very good as well compared to other places on the turnpike. And they offer a fridge, microwave and Wifi.
I was traveling through CT, and stopped at the Coronet Motel. Room was nice and clean. Had a flat screen with a fridge, microwave and free wifi. Stayed here for a couple of days and it was a good experience. Located near lots of restaurants and stores and very close to highways. The front desk was friendly and very nice. Cleaned the rooms when I wanted them cleaned which was nice.
I checked in on a rainy afternoon and the room was chilled as I was moving my possessions in. Noticed that there was electric baseboard heat but no thermostat in the room. The office assured me that they had just turned the heat on and that all would be toasty momentarily. When I took a shower at 9 PM the room was frigid again upon exiting the bathroom and when I placed my hand on the baseboard - stone cold. I went to the office a second time and told them in no uncertain terms that the heat had to be put on and left on for the entire week of my stay. At midnight the room was so cold that it woke me up - heat is turned off entirely overnight. The cold room and TV noises and conversations coming thru the thin walls made it impossible to get back to sleep. The next morning I advised them that they are providing uninhabitable accommodations when it is 20 degrees outside, wind blowing a driving rain and they withhold heat. The office is not willing to listen so I have had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. There is no thermostat, no land line phone, no place to hang clothes other than the shower rod. The towels are predictably threadbare, which is to be expected for the price, but they are unacceptably stained . The microwave had many meals of caked on food inside and had not been cleaned in ages. The staff did not empty trash, make beds, exchange towels or linens, vacuum, nothing. Other than taking my money at check-in, zero service was provided. When checking out, I pulled the dresser away from the wall to be sure that I was leaving nothing behind, to find many possessions of previous guests, including drug paraphernalia. I am not a part of that world but could recognize the glass pipe for what it was. There are only 11 rooms at this establishment and several are inhabited by permanent residents. One man proudly told me that he is paying $1100/month to stay in this small room with no heat and reaffirmed that there is never heat. He keeps a dog in his room, so he thinks that he is getting a good deal to "get my cable and hot water; it costs extra to keep the dog". He does not even realize that he is being exploited. He advised that another resident has been in the same room for 17 years.…
I recently stayed at the Coronet Motel on the Berlin tpke and enjoyed my stay. The motel staff was very friendly, rooms were clean and wifi was great. I have stayed at other motels on the tpke for business and I would say this one was a lot better. I will definitely come back to this one again.
My first experience was horrible. After a week they do no service. There was pubic hairs in the bathroom and the towels were very dirty. Not to mention the bed spread they gave me was filthy. After a week I got very ill and had to go to the doctors to get antibiotics for an infection I got from this filthy dog kennel.
