Nothing is as advertised. Not only is Villa Sudoise missing the basic amenities of a sheet or blanket and towel, but there’s no warm water, no AC, no WiFi, and no pool (it’s dried out on the roof). The windows to our space were all broken, there was no light in the bathroom, and the key was so rusty we couldn’t turn it to lock up. We didn’t even have seating inside of the shared space for 2, and the space is supposed to house 4. There is no actual restaurant here (as they advertise online and on their signs) but when we asked for recommendations for food, the woman who ran the place insisted on making us spaghetti, while we sat outside the hotel in the dark waiting for 1 hour. The next day when we went to pay for the food and board, she charged us 4000CFA/person and the original agreed 7000CFA for the room. However, she pretended she didn’t have change for 20000CFA, taking 200CFA out of her wallet and asking if that was enough. Only after offering to go to a market to get change and trying various other methods of this awkward exchange she finally reopened her wallet to give us the 5000CFA of change as if she hadn’t just lied to us. - [ ] Overall, there are plenty of other nice hotels in Aneho and I’d recommend going elsewhere …
If you happen to be in this part of the world and you are looking for cheap and very basic accommodation than one must admit that this is a lovely spot with a great terrace overlooking the ocean. We came as a group of 4 and the housekeeper was also prepared to cook us a nice fish dish for dinner (took an extremely long to arrive though) and also served omlettes for breakfast. We had a bad experience and a troublesome night, as the mains water stopped working in the middle of the night! With 4 people in the flat it got very nasty. So either fill the provided buckets before bed or try to convince the housekeeper not to switch of the mains water beforehand! There is aircon in the room. The housekeeper switched it on when we arrived. It worked efficiently on 18 degrees so that our small room soon became a fridge. We asked for a remote control and were given one which did not work. So we had to leave the room door open in order to get an adequate temperature. Personally I would not return.…
