Saw this new hotel pop up on my IHG app when looking for a hotel in the Long Island City area. I have a lot of patience with new properties and feel like they all need a little time to train staff. But the staff isn't the issue with this property, everyone we dealt with was kind and provided good service. This property felt like a quick built with an owner cutting all the corners. The rooms are REALLY SMALL. Not at all advertised with a square footage and the pictures make you believe they are larger because they aren't using actual pictures of the rooms. I think it was the smallest NYC hotel I've stayed in. Clearly they were working hard to open but missed a lot of basic things, such as my husband stepped on a staple in the new carpet, the shower needed to be hosed off because it had dust from building, the desk chair was so cheap it broke the second we sat on it. And note the desk chair is a small ikea like chair, not a computer chair with wheels. And since it's so small the air vents blow right on your face. In general the neighborhood feels a bit unsafe and there isn't much around. There is a small deli around the corner with good breakfast options. In general the misleading pictures, the tiny room size, and booking a room without checking that it was ready for guests was such a turn off that I don't plan to return. The Hyatt Place in LIC is a much better alternative.…
there's no markets or restaurants nearby, surrounded by auto shops and in between the biggest housing project in NYC, walking to the station in the morning is fine, but I avoided walking back from station to hotel around afternoon or night time. It doesn't feel safe to me. The location is pretty convenient getting to Midtown. takes under 30 mins total commute time. rooms are clean but the location is bad in my opinion when you can't feel safe walking out to buy water or snack.
