Everything was wonderful. We stayed in the Cathedral Room. The view from this room is so beautiful. It was truly such an escape. Even though it was Covid times we were so well taken care of. All meals were delivered to our room in perfect condition and great temperatures. Such a variety of choices for every meal. Absolutely delicious. We loved sitting out by the fire pit enjoying our nightcap under the stars.
Stayed in the Vista Lago cottage this fall for a girls weekend. It was more of a farmhouse really. Just stunning—spacious, housekeeping was impeccable, rooms had so much character and the design/decor were welcoming and appropriate with a hint of luxury. The five bedrooms—each with a King or Queen I believe, gave everyone the space, privacy and rest they needed for a perfect retreat. The spa services themselves were lovely, and the food was delightful. Our entire group was impressed with how many choices they were able to offer—all of them wonderful. Will 100% be back.
Stayed at St. Anne's Spa in Grafton Fri to Sunday with three women from Nov 12th to 14th. When we arrived during the day, you feel the immediate relaxation and healing powers of the land. St. Anne's Spa area has a warm stone antique cottage feeling when you look at their grounds. Nature at its best through the grounds as you see the trees, the lake in the distance and they have nature trails. The Spa building itself is wonderful. Staff there are friendly and you can tell they are there to please their guests. I booked 4 massages for my treatments over the three days. I got the RMT 60 minute massage, Aromatherapy Massage x 2 for two days and the European massage. My friends tried the facials, hand therapy, facials and the hot stone massages and said they were wonderful. The classes were great. The sound bowl meditation was excellent-just what we needed, tried the fire meditation which was great, just alittle cold as it was outside. We used the hydrotherapy pools in the late evening our first night, and even tried them the next day. The Eucalyptus steam room was very relaxing and was just what we needed after our first night of no rest. The food was great and they managed our many allergies well during our stay. We didn't have one allergic reaction and the food to me with so many allergies was wonderful and I was given enough variety. Let me be clear, if you do go for the day, the grounds and spa is worth it and great. Relaxing by the day, but at night, the grounds change and so does the feeling and atmosphere. My friend and I are sensitive to negative and heavy energy. There is a room at the spa which is old and part of the original house. The day time is fine, but when you go to the room in the evening, you feel a heavy presence and know spirits are around in that room and don't want you there in their space. The decor is creepy with a baby carriage and old mismatch of furniture. Infact, the decor for the farmhouse where we stayed was also creepy with weird paintings and weird creepy furniture that made you feel like you were in a horror movie. We stayed at the farmhouse. We were three women and when we arrived to check in, we had spent the day at the spa building so we were relaxed. but after dinner we checked into the farmhouse and it was dark and gloomy where there we no street lamps only some front lights on the part of the annex. The side of the house where we entered only had one motion light which went on as you went to open the door. As soon as we arrived, the inside felt heavy and creepy within the farmhouse. Spooky and eerie and we felt uneasy. There are too many windows and doors in the farmhouse and entrances. There were connecting doors which we didn't know what was on the other side. The floors creaked when walking and when we were quiet, the floors creaked anyways which gave us an uneasy feeling. The three of us slept upstairs after the first night. We covered all the mirrors in the house with blankets or towels. But forgot to cover the hallway mirrors- and that is where we heard most activity in the middle of the night. Two of us slept in the attic room which had two storage doors that were locked. The other in the other upper room. The bonus was that we all had our own washrooms and rooms but two of us were uneasy to sleep downstairs because two of the kitchen windows didn't lock which we reported to the Inn Keeper the next day and the other alternative was a Murphy bed which was right beside a basement door which was locked and open hallway. Didn't feel safe open and exposed to sleep in that creepy area. The first night two of us had broken sleep. Was woken up by strange noises in the middle of the night every hour. Sounded like someone walking up the stairs or roaming the hallways and at one point sounded like someone was in our kitchen. The second day - spent the day at the relaxing spa, used their services and although tired from lack of sleep we enjoyed the day. We debated on asking if front desk if we could switch from the farmhouse to the main house, but everything was already paid for and the place seemed full. We didn't want to sound crazy to the staff there. During dinner on the second night service staff at dinner asked where we were staying, and when we mentioned the farmhouse and that its interesting and that it was creepy, one of the staff responded that they heard stories that the place was haunted. The three of us looked at each other and were even more uneasy to stay the second night. Believe me we searched other hotels on our phones but most were 50-70 km away and felt everything was already paid for so we gave it another go in hopes that we were just being paranoid and thought we would just try and get through it. The second night, we all made our way upstairs after watching some netflix on our devices. As we separated two of us in the attic room, and the other in the upper room, I was just starting to fall asleep when our friend yelled did you hear that? She heard yelling like a screech or howl and then children laughing. I went to her room and we all tried to listen, nothing came about. She claimed she was on her phone looking at pictures and heard the loud screech coming from outside her front window and didn't want to look. She packed her stuff up and joined us in the attic room scared. Now the three of us in a big house four bedrooms was now crammed in one room together scared and sleeping in the creepy attic room. I started to hear the screeching noise and woke up my friend, because I was on the opposite end of the twin bed near the door. I couldn't sleep and told my friend I heard it twice. We both were now up, uneasy, scared and couldn't sleep and stayed on our phones for a few more hours into the night surfing the internet. Then as I was starting to fall asleep and my friend was surfing her phone, I could hear rustling above my head board where my charger and cords were plugged in. I was getting this uneasy feeling and started to feel scared but didn't want to look. Then all of a sudden, my twin bed lifted slightly from the headboard and shoved forward about three inches and I yelled and gasped as I had just been shoved forward and the bed made a loud dragging screech on the floor. My friend who was awake looked up at me from her end of the room and said are you okay? I was scared and was sweating and said I was shoved forward. My friend said I am awake on my phone and heard your bed screech forward and now your bed is tilted in a 45 degree angle. I started to sweat and did not want to mention in the peripheral vision of my left side standing at the edge of my bed was a young boy and was terrified to face him to my left. My friends asked me to join them near their bed. My friend got up to help me as my heart was racing and I took the two wing back chairs and shoved them in front of the bed where the two of them were. The little boy who was at the edge of my bed disappeared. That is where I remained with no sleep from 3:00 am until 7:00 am until I saw the sun come up. Through those four hours, I could hear the stairs creaking, a typing sound and when I stared at the door way, a few shadows and silhouettes passed by. I debated many times to call the front desk to complain and ask if they knew of any spiritual activity within this house, but I didn't know there was a phone in the room and I thought in order to call I would have to go downstairs alone to call. In that moment when you are terrified you don't exactly want to say things out loud and bring more fear or power to the spiritual world, so I waited patiently until sunrise. At one point when I was so tired and feeling drowsy, a lady in a silouette bridesmaid looking dress passed by the hallway and doorway and it woke me right up and made me alert to stay up for the remainder of the night. I debated on calling the front desk between the hours of 3 am to 4 pm after the bed shoving...but what would front desk do send over maintenance and then what? Tell them that we feel spirits and can see ghosts? We were terrified and could not wait to pack up out of there at 8;00 am leave to have breakfast never to return to that farmhouse again and check out early. The next day Sunday we told front desk room was ready to be cleaned early and that we would not be returning to farmhouse. We shared our experience with management. They were lovely and gave us a gift bag with a cup and soap which we were not expecting. Our intention of informing them was to tell them the reason if housekeeping went to the house why the doors had chairs pushed up against them and why we had covered all the mirrors. I wish I had covered the mirrors in the hallways because that was where most of the spiritual activity was. We advised management that the farmhouse needed sage and a cleansing. The manager said he would make a note in our file to not book us at the farmhouse again. In my mind I was like, I would not stay on the grounds over night again LOL. No thanks. The moral of the story, is if you are sensitive to spiritual activity or energies, then only go to the Spa for the day. Do not stay overnight. If you are staying overnight, bring Sage with you, angel in-sense and do a cleanse of your living quarters. If I knew it would have been like that I would have come prepared and brought my Paulo Santo sticks and sage with me and used my crystals. This place is old from 1852 so even though it has a quaint cobble stone antique feel, with it it brings history and memories and spirits of many. Would I go back to this Spa? Absolutely for the day to use their services. But I would not stay overnight knowing I am sensitive to spiritual activity and energies. This place had a lot of that going on in the evening and then healing powers during the day. The decor doesn't help. They have alot of mismatched creepy old furniture which I believe has alot of connections and memories attached to them. They really should rethink about hiring a decorator and change the decor and furniture of the cottages and staying quarters. If you stay overnight, bring some holy water, sage, and San Paulo Sticks so that things can remain in peace and that you actually get a peaceful and restful sleep. Two of us was relaxed during the day, and restless at night and exhausted without sleeping for the two nights. On our last day Sunday, we asked Wait staff about the farmhouses and they even mentioned that the Bird house and some of the cottages customers have claimed that they are haunted and said they heard many stories. This is something they definitely do not advertise on their website. If you like that ghostly ghost hunter kind of thing...then definitely this place has all the feels you will be looking for. Daytime yes, night time, or hell no not for me anymore. Its not cheap to stay here or go here, but I can see why many flock to the spa as they have healing, wellness and relaxation as their theme for a getaway.…
I had heard so much about this place that I had to try it when transitioning jobs. The experience exceeded expectations! Such a relaxing atmosphere. The food is incredible and so much of it! You won’t go hungry. If you do, the bakery (food truck style) is exceptional! Had that as we checked in early. Girls’ getaway, romantic weekend or solitaire experience, you cannot go wrong here! Can hardly wait for my next visit!!!! Was so unfortunate that I could only book one night!
My sister and I are Irish twins. We celebrate the 2 months that we are twins by visiting st annes. This was our 5th visit. It gets better every year. The accommodations the food the staff the treatments are all excellent. Which makes for an amazing experience. I think everyone needs to experience this magical place.
