I stay at Staybridge Suites often, but have now moved on to the Hilton brands before IHG. This stay reminded me why. This hotel is new, but in 2021 you'd think they'd be able to get some of the design flaws out. Just because a hotel room has a full kitchen, that does not qualify it to be categorized as a "suite". Apparently all of the "suites" with two beds are studios, not a true suite with a door (or even a wall!) separating the bedroom from the living room. So if you have more than one person in the room (as one would assume if you're requiring two double beds), there is zero privacy from each other. Speaking of privacy, the bathroom vanity is in the bedroom privacy there either. That's just two of the design flaws. Other things were just annoying or Judy plain the bathroom door being hard to close, the vent hood fan coming on automatically when you use the microwave, the thermostat being glitchy, miniature soap bottles being left in the room half used by previous guest, and a scrubber in the kitchen that was clearly used (but hopefully sanitized?!?!?) being presented as new on top of folded dish towels (that's disgusting and please just don't.) Also, there's nothing around within walking distance. It is ok for an ok place to sleep for a night. Would I want to stay here again? Nope.

Hi 1969Traveler1969, I first want to say thank you for giving Staybridge Suites Dallas-Grand Prairie a review. Reviews like yours help us see where we are succeeding and where we need improvements. On behalf of myself and my team I would like to apologize for the misunderstanding and confusions you had while staying at our hotel. We never like to hear that there was confusions and misunderstandings while staying with us. I would like to address some of the things you had mentioned in your review though so that yourself and future guests can see clarification on some of these items. Wikipedia defines a "suite" for hotels as followed: "In addition to one or more beds and a bathroom, such "suites" include a living or sitting area, often equipped with a sofa bed. Dining, office and kitchen facilities are also added in many of these "suites." Which is what we offer at our hotel. At our Staybridge Suites we offer a variety room types. One being what you mentioned which is the two queen studio. However, we do offer two queen 1 bedroom suites as well that has a separate bedroom. Unfortunately because no issues were reported while staying with us I am unable to see what you actually booked with our hotel to see if there were any issues with your room type. All of our rooms can sleep a minimum of 4 guests though which is including our sleeper sofas. All of our rooms minus 3 are suites with a full kitchen, rooms being bigger than a normal hotel room and a sleeper sofa with a desk to accommodate all types of travelers. All of our room types had the help and approval of IHG and Staybridge Suites Brand Architects and definitely had in mind for privacy. I sincerely apologize though that the vanity was not in the same room as the bathroom and we can definitely share this idea with IHG for future Staybridge's. I'm a little confused about the vent hood fan coming on when you used the microwave because all of our microwaves have a button on it to choose to turn on the fan and power level for which to use the fan. We try and have all of our appliances just like if you were at home so that they are easy to use. Our friendly 24/7 team is also available to assist with any type of issues so that you enjoy your stay. Our thermostats for the guests rooms are actually one of the most amazing things we have to help with being green efficient. I apologize that yours may have been glitchy. We do try our best to ensure each thermostat is running properly. We have them set so that if a guest leaves the room that it doesn't run constantly however with the summer heat in Texas we have it set to ensure that the room does not go above 74 degrees. Overall, we always ask our guests that if they have any type of issues anywhere from room types to issues in the room to always speak to one of our friendly team members that's available 24/7. I am disappointed that these issues and/or questions were not brought up during your stay but I hope that I was able to clarify some of the things you mentioned in your review because we don't want any guests to leave unhappy or left without knowing about our hotel. We would love to know more about your reservation so we can look into your room type more and see if we can help answer any questions you have. I stayed here for spring break in March. The hotel is pretty new and still working out some kinks. Our room was spacious and clean. The only problem is they request your old towels before issuing new ones. It was several occasions for two people to ask for additional towels everyday. There is no room cleaning unless you stay seven days due to Covid19. The hotel front desk Tandy and Alexa were friendly and helpful. Overnight the property gets dirty with overflowing thrash bins and dirty floors. There's no cleaning staff at night, so it stays like this till mid morning. The hot breakfast and cocktail hour were great. Overall good location and clean rooms. I would book again here.

We stayed here during the extreme power outages from the winter storms. Check in was very unorganized. We had to wait 2 hours in line before our room was ready. Check in was supposed to be at around 3 pm, but we didn't get into our room until 5. Breakfast wasn't appealing. Bananas, rotten apples, and granola bars were the options given. No coffee was available either. One of the elevators broke during our stay. The rooms themselves are very spacious and accommodating. The kitchenette was extremely convenient for meal-making. Dishes, silverware, pots, pans, stovetop, and a dishwasher were provided. Beds were very comfortable. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were high quality. WiFi speed was fast. The rates were fantastic at only $107 per night with a military discount. Excellent price for the large suite provided. The suites themselves were five stars. Overall, the hotel staff has much need for improvement, but the stay was very good for our power-outage situation. Give this hotel a shot.

Had to stay in town for work for a few days. On day 3 when I left for work I was asked if I needed house keeping. I told the front desk yes and that I especially needed clean towels. When I returned from work 14 hours later, house keeping had not been to my room. Called the front desk and asked for towels. I was told I had to bring the old ones to the front desk and EXCHANGE them. Never have I had to do that in a hotel. Even then the man working the front desk was extremely rude when I asked for an entire new set questioning how many people I had in my room. I asked why house keeping was not there and was 1st told they just do light house keeping, then that they were short staffed, then that they had too many other rooms to get ready. They do allow dogs in the hotel so be prepared to hear them barking throughout the property and while you’re in your room. This hotel appeared very nice but that’s only because it’s new. It will not take anytime before this hotel is run down as trashy as it is already.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at Staybridge Suites DALLAS - GRAND PRAIRIE. Please know that your feedback is extremely valuable to us. We use feedback, such as yours, to continuously make changes to our brand to improve the guest experience. I apologize for not being able to provide housekeeping during your stay. PER IHG and COVID Guidelines, housekeeping is not to be provided for the safety of our guests as well as our employees if the guest is only here for less than 7 nights. If housekeeping is gone for the day our front desk agents have guests bring down their used linen and swap out for new ones. This is for the safety for our guests and our employees during this pandemic. We do ask how many are staying in the room to ensure that we have the right count to provide you with clean linen. I believe how things were handled though from my front desk agent is unacceptable and I will have make sure to speak to him and make sure this does not happen again. Because of these issues though I would be willing to give you a discount for the issues and troubles that you had while staying with us because I honestly do not want our guests to leave unsatisfied. Just to clarify, yes, our hotel is brand new and I sincerely apologize for the barking dogs. Unfortunately unless we can hear them we don't know sometimes that dogs are barking since this is a large hotel and rely on help from our guests if an animal is barking so that we can rectify the situation. I am sorry that you feel that this hotel will be "run down as trashy as it is already", however the time you stayed with us is the time that we opened our doors to all of our Grand Prairie and surrounding area residents so that the ones who did not have electricity nor power could go somewhere to stay warm and have a place to use power. Please let me know how I can make this right for you so that you will give us the opportunity to serve you again in the future.
